    An American Classic

    Customer review by ElmerFudd

    5.0 stars by ElmerFudd

This is a great pnumatic multi pump air rifle and Wal-Mart has the best price I've seen for it. It has a really nice hardwood stock, good factory sights and it is a pleasure to shoot. (no recoil) It is suitable for small game hunting, pest control or just target shooting. It is made in the USA with quality materials and is just a darn good deal. If you only own one air gun this should be it.

    Great air rifle

    Customer review by Kraig

    5.0 stars by Kraig

Bought one for my son just after he was born so like me he could grow up shooting such a great air rifle. He has been shooting his for 3 years now(and no he isn't only 3 years old) One of the great things about these air rifles is if you take care of them they will last for a long time, mine is 30 years old. If the air cylinder goes out you can have them rebuilt for about $40.

The Benjamin 392 .22-calibre rifle is well-made, lightweight, and accurate out of the box. Its iron sights, often criticised, are perfectly all right, but my old eyes need help down-range...: buy a 4X32 Leapers scope with an Air Venturi Intermount and you're in business.

    • 8 or less. See also: Benjamin Air Conserving Pumper, ACP, Custom built by Steve Woodward. In some cases air remains in the rifle, so less pumping is required for the 2nd shot. In ideal cases the air valve closes at the same time as the pellet has travelled the entire barrel length of 19 inch. Keeping the air valve open longer just wastes air and makes the shot louder without making the pellet travel any faster.

    • The company says 8 pumps ,
      by Masanobu4/11/2015
Was this answer helpful? (8) (0)
    • It recommends not more than 8, but reviews have said that you can get the max at less. Pumping it up to the maximum allowed does not always serve the purpose of maxing the foot pounds produced. I suggest checking out Pyramid air for a little more knowledge on this.

    • 10 max. But, shooting short distances like 10 - 20 yds, 5 are plenty. You get more shooting in and less tired pumping. More velocity does not mean more accuracy. When you store the air rifle, keep one pump on the rifle to keep the air piston in the correct position so it does not change shape.

    • 8 pumps for full velocity but it's not required all the time. Pumps 7 & 8 can be a bit of a chore and will tire most people out if plinking. 6 pumps is plenty for small critters/birds out to about 30 yards.

    • they make a scope mount for them but you have to use a long eye relief pistol scope ....
      by boyota3/24/2015
Was this answer helpful? (2) (0)
    • Yes , you can put mounts that clamp the barrel . A pistol scope or red dot scope work well , they do not interfere when you pump the rifle.
      by Masanobu3/24/2015
Was this answer helpful? (3) (0)
    • It takes special mounts that wrap around the barrel since it does not have the traditional mounting platform we are all used to.

    • Yes, If your eyes are like mine you'll need to. Wal-Mart has mounts for this gun. About $12.00
      by Croket3/8/2015
Was this answer helpful? (2) (0)
    • Yes, but special scope rings/mounts must be ordered because there is no rail or dovetail to mount rings to. The rings are available though.
      by MARK95213/8/2015
Was this answer helpful? (2) (0)
    • Yes, but it will require the separate purchase of an aftermarket scope mount. Also, scopes generally aren't recommended for pump style guns since they have a tendency to get knocked around when pumping. There is an aftermarket rear peep sight that's plenty tough/accurate for use on this gun and is a major upgrade over the stock sights.

    • Yelp look online. The best way to do it is with a scout style mount but you must also use a long eye relief handgun scope with this mount.
      by slaminsammy3/8/2015
Was this answer helpful? (2) (0)
    • Yes, you need a B272 mounting kit.
      by Wexler12/29/2014
Was this answer helpful? (1) (0)
    • Yes. The 272 scope mount is for the Benjamin. Walmart sells it. But it is a 3/8 " scope mount. If you buy a scope that is a Weaver mount, that will require a 7/8 " mount. There is a commercially available converter that mounts on the 272 scope mount then allows a Weaver mount scope or red dot to be installed. The one thing to be carefule of is that the scope may interfere with the bolt and loading of the pellet if you position it incorrectly. It just takes a little trial and error with positioning.

    • Yes, Just make sure their .20 (5MM) caliber. .22 caliber are (5.5mm) and will not fit the bore. I will recommend the JSB Diabolo Exact .20 Cal, 13.73 grain. I think you will find them to be good in the blue streak.
