Rated 1 out of 5★ by OutHere BEWARE wrong description to actual product This chain when picked up at the local Reno stores is actually for a 1 to 3 speed bike not for up to a 24 speed bike as listed in the sku description. It appears to be an error in the online description and not an inventory mix up at the local stores. (I checked two). The correct chain for a 21 speed Mongoose bike is just under $10 at this time and is a narrower chain.WM.com has been made aware of this problem and hopefully will omit this review when the description is corrected. 06/14/2012
Rated 3 out of 5★ by RickSpeakerDepth The weakest link! Bell bicycle chains are quite useable. But be aware that the gold master link on the ten speed version is a particularly weak design. The link will fail under hard pedaling. Best to remove the master link and install with a chain rivet tool.1 and 3 speed bikes normally use a 1/2" pitch x 1/8" wide chain. That includes fixies, bmx bikes, beach cruisers.Deraillleur equiped bikes normally use a 1/2" ptch x 3/32" wide chain. The two widths are not interchangeable so make sure you buy the correct chain.pitch referes to the distance from 1 pin to the next. The width is measured on the inside of the chain where it sits on the sprocket and cog teeth.Note that most deraileur equiped bicycle chains DO NOT have a master link. They are installed at the factory using a chain rivet tool. Also, high end racing bikes with lots more gears (8, 9, 10, or 11 cogs on the rear wheel) require special chains that wal mart doesn't sell. 12/10/2012
Rated 1 out of 5★ by LimeyPAC NOT multi-speed This chain is NOT for "bicycles from 10- to 24-speed"; it is for 1- to 3-speed, as it states on the package.Walmart.com, correct this!! This has been wrong for over 6 months! 01/10/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by CantBlameWalmart Typical Picked this up to fix a cruiser i am working on, thinking that a single speed bike chain might work on a single speed bike... my mistake it is about 5 links to short....also am i just bike ignorant or shouldn't it have said on the package that a special tool is needed to put it on?? 08/22/2013
