Great Wireless speedometer for the price

Simple to install and set up, I have used this for nearly 350 miles of on and off road mountain bike use. It's a killer price too; the CHEAPEST wireless you can find at REI is about $75. To whomever it was who gave it a bad review: try installing it correctly. The key is getting the sensor lined up and close to the sending unit; just follow the instructions. It is also accurate, has plenty of functions, and has continued to work through a couple brutal wrecks (glued it back on).

    Great Tool for Cycling

I cycle every morning, mid-day, and evening. And it is always accurate and extremely helpful. However it was a little bit smaller than I expected ( smaller than an average persons thumb ), its still amazing. I ride a Giordano Rapido 700c Bicycle (

The Bell Console was fairly easy to program. The only trouble I had was trying to set the time. After several trial and errors I finally got it done. As opposed to previous models this one has a straightforward, easy to understand instruction book. I have had it on my bike about a week and it seems to work great. I like that you can easily take it off it's mounting bracket so you can take it with you when the bike is parked. I did have a guy who works on bike's to put on the parts that go on the spoke and fork of the bike.

    how does it work

    • There are three parts to this , a device that attaches to a spoke of your front wheel, a sensor that attaches to the front fork of your bike, and then the speedometer, which attaches to your handlebars. The device sends signals to the sensor as the wheel spins, how many miles per hour you are going, which sends signals to the speedometer.

    • It is wireless The way that you use it The screen that you see you put that on your handlebars Than there is a square sensor that goes on your forks next to your Front wheel At the top of your spokes Then there is a small magnet you need to put that on your spokes and line it up with the square sensor that is connected to their forks In order to make it work you need to make sure that the sensor on the forks is pushed closely to the spokes so that it is next to the magnet Now all you need to do is set up the screen on the speedometer just read the booklet If it doesn't work checked the sensor to make sure it is close enough to the magnet

    • There is a little sender unit that installs to the front fork of your bike. It has a battery and a magnet connects to one of your wheels spokes which every time it passes by the sending unit it creates a pulse that is counted and converted to speed by your handlebar computer. It therefore is wireless as there is no wire running up your bicycle fork to the computer.

    • A "reader" mounts on the forks and a magnet on a spoke of the wheel. This info transmits to the main unit without wires. Hope this helps.

    • It uses a high frequency short wave signal that transmits a short distance (wireless), from the sending unit to the LCD display. Installation is SO much simpler than a wired unit - very simple.
