Q. I will be using this cable to hook my laptop to my tv,will I get video and sound on my tv or video only on my tv? Thank You.
- This is a stereo cable; therefore, it will only assist in transferring the audio between your two components. You will need a video connection as well. Depending on your setup (what connection port types you have on your tv AND on your laptop), you will need to buy the appropriate connection for that as well. Popular connection types are: HDMI (more common lately on both tv and laptop) DVI (standard usually on desktops, and some laptops, but less common on tvs unless they are 'monitor displays' or 'hdtvs') VGA (standard usually on laptops, and some desktops, but less common on tvs unless they are 'monitor displays' or 'hdtvs' S-Video (becoming less common on both, but very common on both tv and laptop over 4 years old) Composite/RCA (less common on laptops) = however, includes audio without another cable If you google: "Connect Laptop to TV", I am pretty sure you can find even more information that might help, like pictures of each connection type, etc. I hope I have helped!by Trogburn11/18/2010Was this answer helpful?
