FROM ALL I HAVE READ ON BAYER'S SITE, THIS KIT CONTAINS 2 MONITOR THAT ARE DISPOSABLE. STILL A GREAT SAVINGS OVER LABS.

The monitor comes with each kit which comes with 2 test modules. I don't think you would want to keep the monitor for more then 30 days because the battery life may be an issue. Here is the instruction video I found on the Bayer A1C Now site and they have a toll free number to call if you have any questions.Hope that helps.

I use the monitor for the two tests and then use the new monitor when I buy the next kit with two tests.

It comes with each kit. You throw the monitor away after two uses (after using both tests in kit).

It comes with each kit and is designed as disposable. You get two test per kit.

Just spoke with customer service; the meter is good for the two uses only; these are included in each kit. After that buy a new kit, which comes with a new meter and start the process all over again.

The monitor can only be used for the included test kits.

Yes, as long as you keep the components sealed in their envelopes and stored in a cool, dry place. The unit is powered by batteries in each cartidge, so each time you use a new test cartridge, you're getting new batteries.

I have tested after two months. It is still good

The meter battery should still be good. The testing supplies depends on the expiration date of the package.

If you only want to test your A1C quarterly will the meter and other components in the kit still be usable when you are ready to do the second test?

Ease Of Use

I use this test every other month - just to make sure my diabetes is under control - every three to six months I am tested by my Doctor and have found this test reliable and close to lab results - It is very easy to use - just follow the directions exactly - watch the provided DVD a couple of times and lay everything out before you start - I watch the dvd again as I do the test - very simple.. and makes me feel better knowing I am on target with my A1C. Price is reasonable.

diabetic must-have

I don't know how accurate this product is because I haven't checked it against the doctor's office. Two tests come in this kit. I did the first test and it showed 6.7. I had ordered this product through the mail. Perhaps in this heat, it hadn't come to complete room temperature before I used it (even though I waited awhile before performing the test). I performed the second test one week later and got 5.9. I don't know if that reflects on accuracy or not. It is very easy to use and the lancets are wonderful. I wish they sold these by themselves.

Easy to use

Every three to six month my doctor have me to do an A1C check, with this Bayer A1C Now Selfcheck I can monitor my A1C before seeing my doctor, and see just were I stand before see her. This way I can make adjustment to my diet if need so.

The A1c test is wonderful test to provide a window into the past 3-4 months of blood sugar levels. It also is a good indicator of cardiac risk. I was dissappointed that I could not buy this at two of my local Wal-Mart stores; that I had to purchase it on line. People are taking more responsibility for their own health now. This is an important test along with other simple tests to look at your level of health. This is a quality product for home testing. 5.0 or lower is a good score. If your score is high, please see a physician.

A very important test

If you are comfortable reading and following instructions precisely, this product is terrific. It is so reasonably priced that I check my A1C monthly in order to stay on top of it. The results have been very close to the results I have gotten from the lab (no results can be expected to match up exactly when it comes to blood sugar). Also, Walmart only charges .97 for shipping, so it does not even pay for me to go out and shop for it!

An excellent product.

I have used this product for several years and it has worked flawlessly. I have also used it in conjunction with my lab work to gauge its accuracy, and its results are exactly the same as the lab's. It's been 90 days since my last blood test, so I am picking up another one today. I recommend this product very highly.

Works Perfectly And Is 100% Accurate

The HbA1c test measures your glucose level as an average over 90 days. You can't hide from the results or miss peaks and valleys as you can with daily self-monitoring, so it is really a more accurate measure. Insurance will only pay for a lab test every 90 days, but I wanted to track my progress on a monthly basis, to ensure I was getting things under control.

This test was easy to do, as long as you follow the directions (watching the online video helps.) I do not yet know how accurate it is - but my results were in sync with my expectations. I plan to re-test against my actual results after my next lab test.

This test is marketed to doctors as an easy in-office test, so I'm hoping for good accuracy.

Easy to use - a helpful at-home test

It's good product for people with diabetes or prediabetes and need to check regularly how well it is controlled. Avoids ahving going to the hospital.

However, it's not easy to use. Inspite of following the procedure to the dot, I got only one cartridge to work. At $15/cartridge it costly.

Good product for diabetics

The meters that were shipped were short dated in fact one of them expired on feb 2013 and the other expired at the end of this month. I will be taking the one expired machine and exchange for one that at least is within date 6 months at my local Omak Walmart. To increase value please check dates on health care supplies before shipping out.

Last time ordering health supplies online

I ordered two of these. I have used the product before. The package arrived in a soft envelope. One of the box was squished. I opened the box. The blood collector was cracked. so out of 4 tests one was not usable. so my 25% of my order was unusable.
