the screw on parts are called &quot;rings&quot; i supposed you can buy them separately, or with the &quot;lids&quot; however the rings dont wear out. dont abuse them and keep them until your next canning session.

I was sent the tops and not the screw on parts ?? don&#39;t they come together or is it a seperate item?

I bought three cases of jars as a thank you gift to my sister in law who generously shares her home canned goods. Ball jars stand up to many seasons of use. It only makes sense to use Ball replacement lids with the Ball jars. So I sent her two boxes of these as well. She was thrilled to receive Ball jars and replacement lids

Wide mouth Lids

it's worth it to buy the brand name lids. we bottle most of our wood fired 25 gallons of syrup in glass jars. many of our customers even reform them. off brands don't deal as well consistently.

small sugaring operation necessity

I had bought the larger jars (64 oz) to use as canisters for beans, lentils,etc.  but they seem to be made of thinner glass.  I have broken three of them… or I guess four because I have one on the shelf with masking tape over a crack.  
I believe the 32 oz jars will have to be good as they can expect people to use them to can food   I love the wide mouth jars…
You should include the bands to give protection to the edge during shipping.

Like these better…

Lots of time and effort goes into processing food for "putting-up", canning, storage, etc., so I won't skimp on the jars and lids.  Ball Lids give me the best chance at "sealing", every time.  Yes, I do recommend the Ball Lids.

Ball Lids SEAL correctly

I was a diehard Ball fan but not anymore. The jars are thinner and break easily. And the lid...pfft! I find jars unsealed within a couple weeks after canning. I checked the lids and it's the rubber ring....it's to thin now. Ball is no longer a high quality product especially for the prices they want

Cheaply made

This product price was inflated.   I purchased it so I could let others know.  Canning lids are scarce right now and I was told that there are people cleaning out all the store has in stock and reselling it for a profit online.  These people are no different than the toilet paper scammers.  Hopefully stores start limiting the product so people like you can't profit from the crisis situation anymore!

Greed

I'm very unhappy. My canning lids were crushed. They came in a box along with stickers and were smashed and damaged. I cannot can anything with these lids. It was a small box, but was crushed before I got it. Usually, I get a good product and especially being FedEx is usually wonderful, but such a disappointment today.
