I was skeptical about this and pretty sure I was going to rerun it but this is the best thing since sliced bread! It doesn't make very much but that's ok it's so fast you can easily just throw in another batch to start right away. Comes with a recipe booklet. Does recommend Ball pectin which I had a hard time finding (it's at Target). Highly recommend this little cooker!

Excellent!

Love the jam/jelly maker. Made 2 batches of strawberry jam so far and the machine worked great. Only down side is the size of the batches . Only makes 4 pints at a time. Otherwise I love it and everything cleans up very easy, either dishwasher or by hand. Look out blueberries and raspberries.

Jam for all

I am sooo excited about this jelly/jam maker! I just made raspberry/strawberry jam, grape jelly, and raspberry jam. This was sooo easy! Normally when I made strawberry jam I always ended up having a boil over....NO MORE! I love canning and this just made everything easier...now I feel a lot better about making many different kinds of jam, since its sooo easy to make. The clean up is easy too....the lid, paddle and bowl all go into the dishwasher. My jams turned out perfect! It made a little more than 4 half pints of jam each batch. When you make one batch and finish..you just hit the cancel button, unplug the cord, wait 30 minutes and make another batch. ( I did wash the parts inbetween by rinsing with water...easy cleanup inbetween.) You just measure out your fruit pectin, spread in bowl, put your berries or juice into bowl, click jam or jelly, click start and wait 4 minutes for the beep...then add your sugar ( I premeasured and had it ready) then wait your 17 or 21 minutes depending on jam or jelly. When you hear the four beeps you click on cancel, unplug the cord and ladle the jam/jelly into your warm/clean jars. Secure your lids (which you should heat but not boil) and put the rings on finger tight. Put into the boiling water (water above the jars) and when water is boiling time it for 10 minutes. Take jars out and wait for that beautiful sound of popping...which tells you your jars sealed. (The lid bubble should go down...so you should hear no "popping" when you push down on the lid after letting your jars sit for 24 hours) I just kept my water bath boiling...and ready for each batch...my jars were in the dishwasher keeping warm...I just pulled out the jars I needed and filled the jars...put them in the water bath for 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I started a new batch and started the simple process again. The unit is not too large and will not take up a lot of space. The unit also comes with a cookbook with most recipes that you would think of using. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!!!

I absolutely LOVE this Jelly Maker!

I loved it! I'm used to making 8 jars at a time and it only makes 4 but the time I save it well worth it. Plus it saves my feet and back from hurting from standing in one spot for so long stirring. I have already recommended it to alot of my friends that can.

I used fresh peach and fresh strawberry, following the manufacturer's directions precisely, and was very happy with the results.  It is nice to have this on my island counter instead of cooking over the stove.  It is also nice to do smaller batches from our garden.  Also, I will try Pomona's pectin in the future, just to see.  They have a small paragraph on their website about using electric jam makers and bread machines with their product to make jam/jelly (FAQ, #6, first question).  Worth a try for a small batch, maybe of rhubarb, something that won't hurt so bad if it doesn't set!  I truly appreciate things that work!

Time Saver

This is the fastest, simplest, and easiest way to make jam and jelly. I will not ever make
jam or jelly the "old-fashioned" way again. I hope Ball makes this maker much larger so I
can make a dozen 12-oz jars of jam/jelly in a batch instead of only three of them. If they
do make a larger size, I will be one of the very first people to volunteer to test it.

I do have one suggestion, set your own timer for the 4-minutes and then again for the
rest of the time as the beeps on the Maker are very soft and are hard to hear for us "old
folks". The first batch I made, I had to stand right at the Maker to hear the beeps, but
for all the other batches, my timer is so loud that I could do other things while I was
waiting for the beeps.

Best way to make jam & jelly.

If you're a starter jam maker or one who likes to experiment, this is a great machine to have. Recipes are still limited, but I have already added to recipes in the book. It's relatively easy to manage and doesn't take up a lot of counter space. Drawbacks are using Ball products( not always easy to find) and having to wait 1/2 hour between batches. I plan to experiment using other pectins, as I have several boxes on hand.

Easy

Made the process of making jam super simple.  I could be preparing the jars for processing while the machine was cooking and stirring the jams.  No stress on my back because I didn't have to stand at the stove stirring while the jams were cooking.

Jam making made simple

I found the jam/jelly maker fast and easy. I can about 40-50 jars of different things each summer and the strawberry jam was delicious. I used the recipe that came with the auto maker and made both the regular and low sugar recipes. They were both good but next time I will make the low sugar(has more fruit and less sugar) and liked the extra fruit.

Easy clean-up. Fast and easy

This is nearly one of the best inventions since sliced bread. I'm still learning to use it but I did notice that while my blueberry jelly came out beautifully, my orange pepper jelly came out with a slightly burnt, almost electrical burnt flavor. The texture and set was perfect though. The machine boils the brew for the correct amount of time at the right temperature, which is something I struggle with on the cooktop. Wait for it to get marked down and do not hesitate to buy this if you are even slightly interested in canning jellies and jams at home!

Love It but . . .

that when you make jelly in it the jelly smells and taste like plastic nothing i could have done the stir pattle isnt made of good materials so pattle runes the jelly,yuck! cant take it back because i dont have a box husband got read of it ,and company wants you to jump threw hoops to get new paddle,
