Baja Convert-A-Couch Sofa Bed, Red 4.2 5 83 86
Baja Convert a Couch The couck is extremely comfortable. Very easy to put together. It also has an adjustable back setting so you can either lean back a little bit or sit more upright. Overall its a great couch and a great value. 05/27/2009
Mostly ok, but... It comes in one big box, approximately 2'x3'x8'. You definitely need 2 people and a truck to get it home.Be careful opening the box. It is VERY tightly packed. Be careful if you use box cutters because it would be easy to cut the fabric. Also, for shipping the two matresses are tightly compressed between two frame pieces and they expand quickly when the restraining straps are cut.The couch takes some assembly. Although the process is straight forward, I found it difficult to get the matresses 'stuffed' into the cover the way they need to be. That part alone took me three tries and about 90 minutes.I was disappointed that the couch is NOT the color shown online. Instead of the medium red that I wanted, it is more of a darker red rust color. The couch is solid and comfortable. It switches from couch to sleeper easily. It is okay to sleep on.The seat is 16" off of the floor. I added 5" Wal Mart bed risers to make it higher. The height was okay before, I just prefer the couch to be a little higher. It is good but not great. Wish it was red instead of rusty red. 10/26/2009
I'm loving it! I purchased this sofa after months of research trying to find the cheapest price and of course Walmart won that battle. I ordered my sofa on the 4/16 and had it by 4/23. I was impressed with the quickness of the delivery since I read the negative comments about delivery time, but I had no problem. The only thing that i must warn is they only drop the product off at the front door, so if you live in a apartment building with steps you may have to let Walmart know this and it may cost you extra (not sure), but it's worth it. I didn't have to pay extra and the delivery man was very helpful by helping me with the sofa box to my apartment door. The sofa packed in a box does weight 148lbs.Over all the sofa turned out EXCELLENT and it only has 6 pieces to put it together. It only took me an hour to put together by myself (yes I am a woman) with the bolts securely in place. Once the sofa was done I was very pleased and happy with the finishing product. 04/25/2010
contact the manufacturer before doing the assembly I had read other reviews before buying this sofa. It seemed that the best advice was to not even look at the directions and just attempt the assembly. Well, that didn't work either. I am usually pretty good with this kind of thing, but the assembly went poorly. In the process, I caused damage to the some of the fabric on the sofa arms down near the ratcheting hinges, and I also over stretched the sofa cover because I put it on when I had it assembled incorrectly. The product should not be sold with such inaccurate assembly directions enclosed. The ratcheting hinge placement is crucial, and the directions have got this backward.Anyway. I probably spent 5 full hours fooling with it (completely taking it apart and re-assembling it like 4 times), but I will say that the product is really well designed. It does look good, and it is very comfortable as a sofa, or as a bed.I would not recommend this piece for daily use. I have it in an extra bedroom that is decorated as an office, but now will double as an extra bedroom for guests.I really like how it will be easy to move (if I relocate), because even though the furniture makes a big presentation, I am now a quite experienced with the assembly, and it can be moved from home to home in the back of an SUV while disassembled. Finally, I didn't want to mess with returning the item because of the damage I did to it during the incorrect assembly. I asked walmart to give me some price adjustment on the purchase, and they did, but it wasn't enough. Still, I think I am really happy with the purchase. 01/10/2010
