Backyard Safari Bug Vacuum with Lazer Light 3 3
Wow this thing is really awesome.... My 6 year old used this to catch probably over 100 bugs already. He catches bees all the time and then inspects and shows them off then releases them completely unharmed. He is eager and catches many bugs including wasps, honey bees, Bumble Bees, Dragon flys, grasshoppers, crickets, ladybugs, beetle, fly, and several others.It really surprised me that this thing even worked but he sure loved it. 07/31/2011
Great idea but Poorly put together I originally bought this for my 8 year old daughter to play with in the yard finding bugs and spiders but it ended up becoming the main source of capturing food for our little tree frog. We feed him flys everyday and use the bug vacuum to suck up the flys. It started out working great but slowly went down hill after about a week. The locking mechanism on the holding and viewing chamber of the vacuum became extremely loose and will no longer lock in place making it extremely difficult to capture bugs without it falling apart. The tiny pieces of plastic that lock the chamber in place are very cheap and wear down more and more every time you unlock it from the vacuum eventually wearing them down to nothing. The vacuum eats through batteries like crazy. I change the batteries weekly. It has 3 speed settings Low, Med & High which are pretty much pointless as you will almost always use it on high since thats the only setting powerful enough to suck anything up. I have found that after a few weeks of use with new batteries and having the setting on high, the vacuum starts to lose power and can hardly suck anything up. I have had to purchase another bug vacuum and unfortunately the one I wanted (turbo edition) was completely sold out everywhere forcing me to purchase another one of these. I have had the second one for 2 weeks now and the locking mechanism is already worn down and the trigger gets stuck in the on position so I have to really pull on it to get it to turn off. Overall I am very dissapointed with this product and will NOT be purchasing another and would NOT recommend it to anyone who is going to use it daily. 09/02/2011
