Purchased this because I did not want to haul a huge grill to tailgate. This grill did the job, very easy to put together. I also use this at my dorm it doesn't take too much space and it great to cook up to 8 burgers. I highly recommend this grill!

I purchased a 17 inch version of this product for $17 in my local Walmart yesterday. I am a college student looking to do some grilling at school and this will sit on the back of my truck's tailgate easily enough. Assembly was no problem and before long you have yourself a solid little grill. Now I read through all of the reviews saying something about the charcoal burning through the bottom or chipping paint while in use. Well I just cooked some burgers on it and had no problem, the grill works good, no chipping, melting, or flaking to speak of. Just be sure to put the littler rack on the bottom so there is airflow underneath the coal. Definitely recommend this!

I was not sure it would meet my expectations....but it did! I love this little grill! I have been using it almost every day since I recieved it! I have a large grill as well, but I tend to use this little guy because it works better!! I have been telling all my friends to get one and some have already. You can't beat the price either!!

    • It depends on the size of the burgers. For regular size burgers I would say that you can BBQ 3 burgers and about 3-4 hotdogs at a time.

    • 4 large patties & 6 small patties, this is allowing space between. You can do 6 large & 8 small if their close to each other.

    • We'll, we had to cook in 2 stages. 4 ears of corn and then 5 larger hot dogs (cooked in no time). There was room for a couple of hamburgers, with the hot dogs. The surface area is 14.6 x 12.2. I would recommend making the hamburgers thinner, because the top grate is somewhat close to the charcoal.

    • Hi donnacanfish, Yes there is a cover(dome-like). The legs fold up over the whole grill(really neat), you can even carry it like handles. I keep mine on the back porch so even if it rains I can still use it. You can take to the park or over to a friend's house. I really really like this grill. I have a big one but this one is very quick & ready to use. Suggestion: you know those (real cheap) aluminum pans? Well, I put one in the bottom of the grill so all you do is pick up the pan & empty the old charcoal. It helps keep it clean & keeps the bottom from burning out. I can even put it in my sink & wash it! How about that! HAPPY BBQing!

    • If you light the fire properly it will be very hot and any wind will cause it to burn things close to it. How big is your balcony? I wouldnt put this grill beneath an overhang or close to a wall.

    • Yes, I think you could easily use this little grill on a balcony, just as long as you have a stable and safe surface underneath. The legs will balance on anything good and solid -- you need at least 12 inches width for stability under the grill. Be sure to watch it carefully while in use. I know more and more apartments are prohibiting any kind of grills except gas.

    • It is small enough for a balcony. I would watch out for walls and low ceilings, but it should work well.
