BREEZE LITTER SYSTEM

About this item

Breeze Litter System from Tidy Cats is a new style of cat waste management that's specially designed to control odor with ease. The unique design separates urine from solid waste for outstanding and long-lasting odor control. This cat litter system uses pellets, rather than granules, that are anti-tracking, for a clean home and floors that are distinctively free from residue. It also utilizes a pad to soak up and trap liquids, for superior odor control that lasts up to a week. The pads can be easily replaced using the bottom pull-out, saving you time and effort since you'll need to scoop less. This also means the box stays fresher because there's less waste in the litter itself, so cats stay happy too. The Breeze cat system makes keeping a tidy box and odor-free home a breeze.

Breeze Litter System:

  • Odor control
  • Anti-tracking
  • Clean & Easy
  • Cat litter system is made by Tidy Cats
  • Package contains: Complete system

Finally, an easy to use, no mess liter system!

I have 3 cats and was sick to death of clay and clumping liter making my bathroom feel like I just walked on the beach. This is the first system that eliminates the dust problem. The absorbent pads make cleaning the urine super easy and with little or no gagging due to smell. The pellets are a bonus compared to clumping liters as they don't spread near as far. I live in CA, so often times I don't use air conditioning due to the wonderful weather we have hear. If it is a warm day I recommend running A/C as smell is more noticed in warmer weather. I scoop my cats #2 immediately as everyone should. Cats like a clean liter box and I always keep them clean. It's never a pretty smell whether I'm using clay/clumping or pellets. So no benefit there. However, if left in the box after about 10 minutes the smell does subside considerably. I've read a fair amount of the reviews on this site and most agree with me this is the best system ever! But if you want to leave the waste in the box for days I WOULDN'T recommend this system for you. Stick with your clumping liter so the cat can bury it and help with the long term smell. Lets face it, scooping #2 is never going to be a pleasant experience, we do it because we love our animals. I've owned cats for 15 years and this is heaven compared to clumping liters that track everywhere the cat goes (including your bed, gross) never found a pellet in my bed yet. Kudos to you tidy cat for the first real option in a mess free cat box! Cons to consider before buying; If your cat likes to dig in the liter it can be a bit noisy with the pellets. Especially at night when sleeping. I have gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore. It's a small inconvenience to pay for all the benefits I get from it. Also, #2 can't really be buried in the pellets, so if you don't scoop right away it just sits on top. Not very pretty to look at. Overall, I'm giving it 5 stars across the board since it's made my life and my cats lives better. Note: I think it's funny someone posted a review saying they threw the system out the same day they purchased it and then said they used the product 2 - 3 months in the drop down menu. Sounds like a biased review to me. Give it a chance and be honest with your reviews. What works for some may not be what others are looking for. I hope this helps someone decide whether to buy or not.

This is the cleanest, best smelling litter box I have ever owned. I read through the other complaints regarding this item and dont understand what their issues are. No you can not flush all of the litter pellets but the one or two that stick I have flushed multiple times with no problems. I think even with a regular litter pan, your dogs would have the same easy access to it, and the one or two pellets that I have found scattered outside the box is nothing compared to the amount of the regular litter I used to have scattered throughout the house. Also the other review re: cats using urinating near the edge and making a mess I have never had problems with either, if the cat goes in the corner the pan is angled so that all of the urine drips through in the very middle of the pad, I have never had any problems with the pads not absorbing the urine, unless I forget to change it often enough. I cant say enough how glad I am that I switched. This is the best product ever, although the only thing I've noticed is I am haveing a hard time finding replacement pellets. Walmart online does not apparently offer them, and in the store is now limited avail.

I love this product! My cat used it as soon as I put it back in place. It's like she couldn't wait to try it out. The urine pad is great, a great idea. It really does hold all the odor, even after a week of use it still is undetectable. The litter pellets at first you would think 1 bag for an entire month is not enough but it is. It does stick to the fecal matter only when the fecal matter is still moist but even after 3 weeks of continuous use there is still enough pellets. *Note* If you wait until the fecal matter is completely dried out then the pellets will not stick to it. That would mean you would have to let it sit in there a 2 or 3 days before scooping it out. I learned that after leaving out of town for a few days and came back. All in all there is no smell at all! No mess at all! No continuous scooping/litter refilling at all! I thought about buying one of those expensive self cleaning litter boxes and decided for just one cat this is a better choice. I change the pad once a week, you don't need to change it any sooner then that. I also change the litter once a month you don't need to change it any sooner then that, if so your wasting your money. About the negative comments I have read on here... I believe it depends on your cat & if your patient enough to wait on the drying of the fecal matter. There are cats that are just plain dirty & messy. If your cat kicks up litter then put a cover on the box not only will it save litter and a mess but will also give the cat privacy. If your cat urinates on the sides of the box then make sure you have the white barrier attached to the box. If you have more then one cat and it seems to much for the box/litter/pad to handle buy another one, it's worth it. Last, if the litter sticks to the fecal matter then do as I said and wait till it dries before scopping it out. If you still find this is a bad product then I guess your just way to hard to please and go back to the old litter and box and deal with the mess, smell & aggravation.

  • Since there is no "litter" involved with this System, there is no clumping. There is a pan that has a removable tray in the bottom. An absorbent liner is placed in the tray. This liner is for absorbing urine. Pellets go in the top of the pan for the cat's droppings. A scoop, for removing solid waste, comes with the System. You simply scoop it up and get rid of it.

  • Yes it clumps. The pellets stick and I just toss all into the toilet when needed.

  • No. The litter does not clump.
    by BonkersAlready11/24/2011

  • No, that is the beauty of the system, because the urine falls through to the bottom pads (saving you litter), and you scoop the poo and only a few bits of litter stick to that. So, you see how you save on the litter (?). Also, I read where a man washed the litter (after the poo was removed) and let it dry a day and he could reuse that.

  • No. It is designed that the urine goes down into the compartment that holds the pad and number two stays on top where the pellets are for easy scooping. One thing I found is that the pellets can tend to stick to the number 2 and if you don't clean out the number two on a regular and consistent basis you can sometimes smell it, however I haven't smelled any of that typical amonia smell you get with standard litters, with that I am truly impressed and clean up has been ultra easy. I hope that helps... Have a nice day.

  • No but it doesn't need to because the urine drips through to the pad.

  • No, it doesn't clump, but the pellets do get darker over time, so you'll know when it needs to be changed out.

  • No. It's not supposed to. The urine drains thru to the pad below. Pellets stick to the stools when they are moist but, if you shake the scooper when they are dry most of the pellets fall back into the box allowing you to flush the stink away!

  • Some of the pellets stick to the feces.... Urine passes through to the pad in the tray..... The pellets will eventually need to be replaced or the will start to absorb the urine and hold the odor in the room....

I have four cats. One immediately began using it. The others simply refuse -- they're scared of it. I've tried putting the pellets on their regular litter. They don't mind that. It's been nearly four weeks now. What to do?
by Gypser 4/20/2010
  • I'm told it you leave the old litter box around too long they will never transition; if you're brave enough try taking the old box away for a day or two and see if they make a move towards the new one.

  • Well, it sounds like you are doing what is recommended by Purina to do. The only thing that you may not be doing is stopping the use of the regular litter. With my cat, and I admit I only have 1, I left her regular litter pan in the place it had always been. I placed the Breeze System right next to it. She still used her regular pan, but sniffed the other, went in and out of it. However, as she used her regular pan, and I cleaned it every night, I did not replace the litter. Eventually, there was hardly anything left for her to scratch in, and instinctively (or so it seemed) she went to the other pan. I don't know whether you read on the packaging of the System that it sugests having multiple Systems for households that have multiple cats. If your still in doubt, I suggest contacting the Purina website.

  • I would keep both boxes side by side until they eventually use it. Perhaps let the box with the old clay litter get a bit dirty so that they lean towards the "cleaner" new box.

  • Why not try using those pine pellets in there..... then slowly mix the reg pellets that come with it in..... or use their reg. litter in it, then slowly switch to the pellets that come with it.....

  • did you get rid of the old box and put the breeze where that was?

  • This is an update on my question of how to get them to use it. I did every thing the manufacturer suggested, even calling them for the help they offered if needed. (They didn't have any other ideas and offered a refund.) I took away the old litter boxes except for one upstairs, but they continued to use it. FINALLY after about 6-7 weeks, one by one I set them in the breeze system, and holding each front paw, I moved them back and forth in a scratching motion. That did it. The three of them began using it. No more of the old litter boxes!

  • Even though the directions say that you should take an average of 3 days to a week to transition the cats over to the new litter box, I switched mine out completely on the 2nd day. I could see her eyeing it, not sure exactly what it was, but I think she knew what it was for. So I just took the old one away completely, and she hasn't had any problems using it whatsoever. I would try taking the old litter boxes away, and give them a couple of days. If they still refuse to use it, then I would switch back. But as long as you allow them to have access to their old litter boxes, chances are they'll pick those over the new one.

  • Set it up. Most cats are smart enough to know what to do. Just keep it in the same general area as the box you took away. It's that simple!

  • Since it is always a good idea to have one extra litter box than number of cats you own, and since several of your cats don't want to use this one I would suggest you keep this one out for the one who does like it. Eventually some of the others might warm up to it, but also keep at least 2 other litter boxes of the regular litter available as well. Basically you have to go with what your cats prefer, not what is easiest for you or they will start going elsewhere and that is never a good thing.

  • Some cats will never get adjusted to the system.... Try placing the Breeze box between the regular boxes ..... or remove one and replace it with the Breeze..... One of my little guys took to it right away .... the others took longer than the mfg states .... 6+ weeks ....

I am just trying to understand how this system works. I have 3 cats and are right now using clumping litter. Just wondering if this system would work better to help my daughter and myself with the cleaning of litter pans. My cats seem to ONLY want to use the one litter pan that does not have an open lid.
by bluemoon73 12/9/2011
  • I love my breeze system. Yes the urine goes thru a screen and into a pad that will hold a lot of urine and you can also take the tray out and turn it around without touching the pad. This helps when you have a cat like mine that will just urinate in the front of the box. So I will pull the try out and turn it around and she is still using the same pad. I absolutely love mine.

  • It is an open top system, no privacy hood. The urine runs through the clay pellets and slotted grid in the bottom into the catch pan where you have the absorbent pad that catches the urine. They do suggest more than one litter system with multiple cats but that's up to you.

  • We have 5 cats and yes, tHe urine does go through to the pad which holds so much. When you scoop with the special scoop you lose very little pellets. Try this you will love it! No more urine spreading out into the litter and smelling up your house. You roll the pad up and discard. It is awesome!

  • Yes, the urine goes through the pellets and into the pad. The bottom of the box(part above the pad) has slots that allow the urine to pass, but keeps the pellets on top. I've owned cats for well over ten years, and this system is the best I've ever used, and much more easier to clean and keep clean!

  • The urine run right through the pellets to the pads below. Because cats tend to urinate in the same spot in the box you do have to check the pad on a daily basis so you can turn it if it needs it. Been using this litter system for a few years and now my cats won't go back to clumping litter.

  • Yes, urine runs through the pellets and down into openings in the bottom and onto the pads below. The pad is on a tray which pulls out easily when you need to change it. There is no lingering odor or wetness in the litter, so you only need to change the litter pellets once a month or so.

  • The urine runs through the rocks onto the pad. The 'bottom' of the pan holding the pellets has slits all throughout it so the urine will run through.

  • Yes; the urine runs through the pellets onto a liner in a tray in the bottom of the System. As to the matter of your 3 cats and their litter box habits, I suggest you go on line to www.Purina.com and thoroughly research the Breeze System. I only have one cat, but I will tell you that I read on the box as I was setting up for her, that in multiple cat homes Purina suggests two or three Systems. So, that is why I suggested that you go to Purina's website and check it out. Good Luck.

  • Yes, the urine runs through the pellets and the shape of the pan directs the urine to the pad below. It really works like a diaper. The pad has material like a diaper on the bottom and absorbable pad on the top. I will rotate the pan around half way through the week to fully use the pad. It still does not smell. At the end of the week, I pull out the tray and toss it all into the garbage going out that week. I rinse the tray just to sanitize again. I add more pellets when needed. Once i month I toss allpellets and clean/sanitize. This is a lot less work than I have ever done!
