This is the cleanest, best smelling litter box I have ever owned. I read through the other complaints regarding this item and dont understand what their issues are. No you can not flush all of the litter pellets but the one or two that stick I have flushed multiple times with no problems. I think even with a regular litter pan, your dogs would have the same easy access to it, and the one or two pellets that I have found scattered outside the box is nothing compared to the amount of the regular litter I used to have scattered throughout the house. Also the other review re: cats using urinating near the edge and making a mess I have never had problems with either, if the cat goes in the corner the pan is angled so that all of the urine drips through in the very middle of the pad, I have never had any problems with the pads not absorbing the urine, unless I forget to change it often enough. I cant say enough how glad I am that I switched. This is the best product ever, although the only thing I've noticed is I am haveing a hard time finding replacement pellets. Walmart online does not apparently offer them, and in the store is now limited avail.

I have 3 cats and was sick to death of clay and clumping liter making my bathroom feel like I just walked on the beach. This is the first system that eliminates the dust problem. The absorbent pads make cleaning the urine super easy and with little or no gagging due to smell. The pellets are a bonus compared to clumping liters as they don't spread near as far. I live in CA, so often times I don't use air conditioning due to the wonderful weather we have hear. If it is a warm day I recommend running A/C as smell is more noticed in warmer weather. I scoop my cats #2 immediately as everyone should. Cats like a clean liter box and I always keep them clean. It's never a pretty smell whether I'm using clay/clumping or pellets. So no benefit there. However, if left in the box after about 10 minutes the smell does subside considerably. I've read a fair amount of the reviews on this site and most agree with me this is the best system ever! But if you want to leave the waste in the box for days I WOULDN'T recommend this system for you. Stick with your clumping liter so the cat can bury it and help with the long term smell. Lets face it, scooping #2 is never going to be a pleasant experience, we do it because we love our animals. I've owned cats for 15 years and this is heaven compared to clumping liters that track everywhere the cat goes (including your bed, gross) never found a pellet in my bed yet. Kudos to you tidy cat for the first real option in a mess free cat box! Cons to consider before buying; If your cat likes to dig in the liter it can be a bit noisy with the pellets. Especially at night when sleeping. I have gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore. It's a small inconvenience to pay for all the benefits I get from it. Also, #2 can't really be buried in the pellets, so if you don't scoop right away it just sits on top. Not very pretty to look at. Overall, I'm giving it 5 stars across the board since it's made my life and my cats lives better. Note: I think it's funny someone posted a review saying they threw the system out the same day they purchased it and then said they used the product 2 - 3 months in the drop down menu. Sounds like a biased review to me. Give it a chance and be honest with your reviews. What works for some may not be what others are looking for. I hope this helps someone decide whether to buy or not.

I love this product! My cat used it as soon as I put it back in place. It's like she couldn't wait to try it out. The urine pad is great, a great idea. It really does hold all the odor, even after a week of use it still is undetectable. The litter pellets at first you would think 1 bag for an entire month is not enough but it is. It does stick to the fecal matter only when the fecal matter is still moist but even after 3 weeks of continuous use there is still enough pellets. *Note* If you wait until the fecal matter is completely dried out then the pellets will not stick to it. That would mean you would have to let it sit in there a 2 or 3 days before scooping it out. I learned that after leaving out of town for a few days and came back. All in all there is no smell at all! No mess at all! No continuous scooping/litter refilling at all! I thought about buying one of those expensive self cleaning litter boxes and decided for just one cat this is a better choice. I change the pad once a week, you don't need to change it any sooner then that. I also change the litter once a month you don't need to change it any sooner then that, if so your wasting your money. About the negative comments I have read on here... I believe it depends on your cat & if your patient enough to wait on the drying of the fecal matter. There are cats that are just plain dirty & messy. If your cat kicks up litter then put a cover on the box not only will it save litter and a mess but will also give the cat privacy. If your cat urinates on the sides of the box then make sure you have the white barrier attached to the box. If you have more then one cat and it seems to much for the box/litter/pad to handle buy another one, it's worth it. Last, if the litter sticks to the fecal matter then do as I said and wait till it dries before scopping it out. If you still find this is a bad product then I guess your just way to hard to please and go back to the old litter and box and deal with the mess, smell & aggravation.

    • A. You scoop the number 2 with the special scoop and lose very little of the pellets but it is done manually. The great thing is you are not trying to scoop urine that hasn't clumped. The urine goes right through to the pad. No more urine smell! So easy to maintain, you won't mind cleaning. It is awesome!

    • A. Littermaid is no good. This is different, you scoop, but less, because the urine goes to a tray at the bottom & is collected on a weewee pad. You won't have litter all over your house with this system. The pellets are heavy & stay in the box. This will save you money on litter, stays 100% cleaner too.

    • A. You do have to manually scoop the solid waste but it is pretty easy to maintain and less overall time is spent cleaning or caring for the litter box. Not only s the price better then the Littermaid but you don't have to worry about a moter going out or the overflow if you forget to change out the collection pod.

    • A. You get one bag of pellets with the system and one 4 pack of urine pads. I would order one extra bag of pellets for the transition because you have to put some in the old box to get the cat used to the feel. But this is so worth it! This product is awesome! Right now you can buy off shelf in some pet stores and of course this site. Pet stores sell out fast but either way you will save so much on what you were spending on litter!

    • A. There is no litter with this system. Instead, there are pellets (less tracking than with traditional litter) and a urine-absorbing pad. Both of these have the "Breeze" label. You should be able to find them anywhere you can find the system itself. However, I have read several reviews which mention trouble finding the refills. You could either stock up when they are in the store or order them online directly from the manufacturer (more information from reading lots of reviews). If you have any other questions, browse through the reviews. There's a lot of useful information there.

I have four cats. One immediately began using it. The others simply refuse -- they're scared of it. I've tried putting the pellets on their regular litter. They don't mind that. It's been nearly four weeks now. What to do?

    • A. Well, it sounds like you are doing what is recommended by Purina to do. The only thing that you may not be doing is stopping the use of the regular litter. With my cat, and I admit I only have 1, I left her regular litter pan in the place it had always been. I placed the Breeze System right next to it. She still used her regular pan, but sniffed the other, went in and out of it. However, as she used her regular pan, and I cleaned it every night, I did not replace the litter. Eventually, there was hardly anything left for her to scratch in, and instinctively (or so it seemed) she went to the other pan. I don't know whether you read on the packaging of the System that it sugests having multiple Systems for households that have multiple cats. If your still in doubt, I suggest contacting the Purina website.

    • A. This is an update on my question of how to get them to use it. I did every thing the manufacturer suggested, even calling them for the help they offered if needed. (They didn't have any other ideas and offered a refund.) I took away the old litter boxes except for one upstairs, but they continued to use it. FINALLY after about 6-7 weeks, one by one I set them in the breeze system, and holding each front paw, I moved them back and forth in a scratching motion. That did it. The three of them began using it. No more of the old litter boxes!

    • A. Even though the directions say that you should take an average of 3 days to a week to transition the cats over to the new litter box, I switched mine out completely on the 2nd day. I could see her eyeing it, not sure exactly what it was, but I think she knew what it was for. So I just took the old one away completely, and she hasn't had any problems using it whatsoever. I would try taking the old litter boxes away, and give them a couple of days. If they still refuse to use it, then I would switch back. But as long as you allow them to have access to their old litter boxes, chances are they'll pick those over the new one.

    • A. Set it up. Most cats are smart enough to know what to do. Just keep it in the same general area as the box you took away. It's that simple!

    • A. Since it is always a good idea to have one extra litter box than number of cats you own, and since several of your cats don't want to use this one I would suggest you keep this one out for the one who does like it. Eventually some of the others might warm up to it, but also keep at least 2 other litter boxes of the regular litter available as well. Basically you have to go with what your cats prefer, not what is easiest for you or they will start going elsewhere and that is never a good thing.
