About this item

Having survived the terrible battle with Azula, Aang faces new challenges as he and his brave friends secretly enter the Fire Nation. Their quest is to find and defeat the Firelord Ozai. Along the way they discover that Ozai has plans of his own: The leader of the Fire Nation intends to use the massive power of Sozin's Comet to spread his domination permanently across the four nations. Short on time, Aang has a lot of bending to learn and no master to help him learn it. However, his friends are there to help, and he finds unexpected allies deep in the heart of the Fire Nation. In the spectacular 4-part Book 3 finale, Aang must fulfill his destiny and become a fully-realized Avatar, or watch the world go up in smoke.

Our whole family loves the Avatar series but could never catch it in order on TV. This set is pricey, but this is a good show and the whole family can watch. Son is 6, daughter is 2 and my husband & I are in our mid 30's.

  • It's a cartoon but instead of seasons they named it books. It is a dvd cartoon, this is the third season, complete pack.

  • There are 3 Books which are actually DVD's. They call them books because they have several DVD's in the series. The Avatar The Last Airbender the Complete Book 1 Collection, which is their water nation adventures! The Avatar The Last Airbender the Complete Book 2 Collection, which is their earth nation adventures! Then, The Avatar The Last Airbender the Complete Book 3 Fire Collection, which is the fire nation adventures and the final battle! These are well worth the money in my opinion! I have watched them over and over again!!

  • This is a show. The show's seasons are called books, and the episodes are call chapters. If your looking to buy season one for example, you would buy the complete book 1. If you want just afew episodes, and to waste ur money honestly, the buy just a dvd, like book1 volume 3.

  • Each disk is called a volume. Some of the DVD's come in 1 or 2 disk sets. When it says "book" they are refering to a box set of disks. If you want book 1-2 or 3 on DVD each book contains 4-5 volumes. (or disks) There was a movie released about a year ago that is based on the cartoon series. This may be why you see a different release date. Be aware that they may have the disks in Blue-ray which are different than DVD's. DVD players are different than Blue-ray. Hope this was helpfull.

  • Ok, this cartoon is three SEASONS long. Book 1 WATER is season 1, Book 2 EARTH is season 2, and Book 3 FIRE is season 3 and the end of the series. They can be purchase in 3 box sets or in individual volumes. I recommend the box sets. It's cheaper and it saves space on your DVD shelf.

  • If it says Book 1: Water, Book 2: Earth, or Book 3: Fire, then it is the dvd, they call them books for this series instead of seasons and I don't know why, but the ones titled as books are the cartoon tv show, and the 2010 one is the live action movie. (live action means it is real people and not a cartoon) if this didn't help or i didn't answer all you needed to know i might be online again soon, but i don't get on that often.

  • Walmart is a good place to find information on things like this. What we have is two shows with similar titles. James Cameron wrote and directed a movie called Avatar that takes place on another planet, great movie. Writer/Director M. Night Shyamalan made another movie shortly after based upon the animated TV series "Avatar: The Last Airbender" which did well in theaters. His movie was a brief version of the first of the three season from TV. Each season of the TV series is called a "book". Season 1 was "Book 1: Water" Season 2 was "Book 2: Earth" Season 3 was "Book 3: Fire". All are worth looking into. The TV DVDs are available as individual discs or as complete "books". It is cheapest to but the "books" or complete sets of each season of the TV series at walmart.com where you will get the best price and convienance. Good viewing.

  • I think that the avatar movie that you have is the one releases by james cameron. If it is then it has nothing at all to do with this one. They are 2 completely different movies. The blue one is about a solider in a war on another planet. This one is about an airbender named aang (it is a cartoon like show).

  • The Avatar widescreen leased on 2010 doesn't have anything to do with this Avatar the blue as you call it is a movie and it is a single dvd and this other "Avatar the last air bender" it's a cartoon a tv series there're three books each of them has 4 dvds hope it helps.

  • This product is a complete collection of the final season. The disc is "full frame", meaning its not in widescreen. It has 5 discs- the fifth one ( bonus disc) is just the creators talking about the series. Now the part 3 stuff is talking about disc 4, which concludes the journey of the main characters. Its actually divided into 4 parts because each part shows how the characters like Iroh, Zuko and the kids do their own part to help Aang restore peace to the world. And while his friends help out, Aang is trying to figure out how to defeat the firelord whithout having to kill him. And to about the "book" thing, thats just what the creators labled it to mean "the complete colection" not an actual book. I assure you this is all dvds. The reason for them calling it "book" is beacuse when you watch the episodes their titles come up as "Chapter 21.." not "Episode 21."
