Beautiful but short lived This futon was amazing when we first purchased it. It was beautiful and it initially met all of our expectations. Unfortunately, this satisfaction was short lived. About 4 months after we bought the futon the padding was wearing down to the point that you could see and feel the steel frame inside the futon. This futon lasted us less than one year. If you want something temporary or something that guests can use every once in a while then this is a great choice. If you intend on using this everyday long-term then I would suggest you keep looking. I wish someone would've warned us before we purchased this futon. 07/17/2011
Fairly decent futon Bought this as a temporary long term replacement for my bed. It's fairly comfortable although when it's used as a bed there's a metal piece that runs vertically down the center at the pivot point within mattress. It's definitely noticeable if you're laying on top of it but it wasn't too bothersome for me. It's not noticeable at all if you sleep to one side or the other. Another good way to get around this would be to put a mattress cover over it, which should be done anyway on any bed.Converting it between it's different forms was a bit harder than I expected but pretty simple nonetheless.As a bed it is a good value when compared to buying a full bed, box spring, and frame; and would be perfect for a guest room bed or sofa. Being a futon, when it's in bed form it is much closer to the ground than a normal bed. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your personal preference. To me personally it did not matter but it was noticeable.Assembly is very easy as it comes pretty much fully assembled, except for the legs which have to be mounted. Only downside to this is that it comes in a huge box, so make sure you have a pick-up truck or large van when picking this item up.All in all, it's a well built and comfortable for the value. Highly recommended for those looking for a back up bed as I was; And I can see this working out very well as a guest bed. 02/02/2011
Not-so-hot This product is very expensive for its size and discomfort. If i would have seen it in stores or been able to just sit on it before purchasing it i would have never bought it to begin with.It is very hard and uncomfortable, it is very small as a couch and as a bed and i cannot emphasize enough how much it was not worth the money.
