If you are like me, you are scared to buy a piece of furniture online. I literally spent 4 months shopping for a recliner online and always decided against it because I was scared to death I would get something I would have to try and return. The reason, for me anyway, was because manufacturers just do not give the info that a person needs. Especially for a recliner. Will it fit me? Will it take up too much room? What are the exact sizes? Etc. I mean, how much business do these stores expect to do online if they don't give complete information? That being said I found this recliner and decided to give it a shot after reading a decent review by a guy that said he was 6' 1" and it fit him okay. I want you all to know that this recliner is actually a very decent piece of furniture for the price. I have been really impressed so far. The color is closer to a chocolate brown and truly does look like suede. As far as whether it will fit you, well, I am 6' 1" and weigh 195 pounds with a medium build. I have a 36 inch waist. The chair fits me abosulutely perfect! The arms of this chair are overstuffed and there is sufficient padding in the seat and the back. Not like a Lazboy mind you, but very sufficient for the price. The chair reclines almost flat when fully reclined and my head still stays on the head rest. My feet do not hang over the edge. My feet do not touch the floor when I am seated (and you don't want your feet to stay on the floor in a rocker anyway). I will warn all of you: This chair is a monster in size. It comes in a giant box in 2 pieces and weighs around 98 pounds. Here are a few measurements: Standing in front of the chair from Arm to Arm 41", From the floor to the top of the back 41 1/2", Looking sideways 42". The seat (Where your butt goes) is 22 1/2" from the back to the front and 18" wide. When fully reclined it measures about 69" from the top of the back to the end of the foot rest. I did notice there were people who said the handle was hard to reach. I admit, at first it was until the chair started to get broke in. Now I can actually "fold it up" with my legs, come to a seated position and easily reach the handle to lock the chair. I have noticed a slight spring creak, but I don't mind that at all. All in all, for less than 300 dollars brand new I am not going to complain too much. Trust me, this is much better than what I had before. I would gladly purchase this chair again. I have owned the chair for about 2 weeks now and am very happy. Oh, and as a plus, the shipping company was super nice!

    • today I was measuring the chair and not sitting in it i reclined it with the lever but closed it with my hands I decided to sit in it and use lever to open and use legs to close it..i had to use force with my heals to close it and so u dont have to use lever to close it..

    • The lever is used just for the first few inches to unlock the foot rest. Then the footrest will spring up gently the rest of the way. The same goes for closing the footrest only in reverse. Your legs push the footrest 95% closed then the handle pushed forward locks it in place. Very smooth both ways...takes little pressure as all opening and closing of mechanism is well balanced.

    • Both, leg pressure on the footrest and pulling the lever forward returns things to normal.

    • You use your legs to push down on the foot rest while you pull the side handle forward. It requires a little effort but works okay.

    • One giant box, aprox a 5 foot cube. My husband removed it from the box in the Wal-Mart parking lot, and placed the two separate pieces in our large car. Not an easy fit, if you have a medium size car it WILL NOT FIT. One piece had to fill up the back seat, the other filled up the trunk, and the trunk was still hanging open.

    • It came in one large box. Just slightly too big to fit in our SUV. We took it out of the box and it fit. It would even fit in a car if you took it out of the plastic and put the 2 pieces in separately.

    • it comes in one LARGE box- two pieces inside. the back of the chair kind of 'clicks' in to the seat portion of the chair and u also (if u have hardwood floors) put the plastic 'feet' on the chair ..its pretty simple to assemble..i dont recall using any tools, however u may wany to adjust the recliner lever if it is too springloaded for you and then u would need a screw driver

    • The website said there would be some assembly required, but it was a bit of a stretch to call it assembly. It was literally line up 2 bars and push down till it clicked. No screws. No tools. Took all of 2 seconds.

    • Two pieces, no tools necessary. Just slip the back onto the rails and push until they lock in place.

    • It came in two pieces. It didn't take any tools. It just top/back of the chair slides together with the base/seat of chair and snaps. Once it's assembled, it doesn't appear that you can take it apart again, like if you were moving or something. Once it's together, it stays that way.
