The Sticky Buddy does what it says... it picks up just about anything... on the first try. Problem is, once it gets covered with lint, it's no longer sticky, and swishing it around in water (as seen on TV), doesn't do anything. Here's the trick. You have to scrub it clean with hot water, soap and a brush with soft, natural bristles (like the kind you might use in the shower). Let it dry, and it's sticky all over again! Too bad they don't offer better cleaning instructions because I was on the verge of returning it when I discovered this technique. It's yet to be seen how it fares in the long run, but so far, it's holding up well.

I bought this mainly to pick up cat hair. The TV commercial shows that it "rinses" clean. However, the instructions on the box states that sometimes you have to use your hand to rub it loose from the sticky part. Like a previous poster, I do not have to use soap or "scrub" this to get it clean ... I just rub my fingers back & forth & it gets clean. If I don't need to use it again right away, I let it air dry. If I have more work to do, I follow the instructions & use a lint free towel to dry it off & back to whatever I'm using it for. I also either put a strainer in the sink when rinsing it or go outside & use the hose to clean it off. I have also used a bucket of warm water (when needing it for bigger jobs) & just dry in between rinsing.

Picks up pet hair and bits from clothes in a flash very useful for small areas. Where I noticed a problem, I have 2 cats and picking up their hair from, say my large armchair, would take more than one roller full. Therefore, one would need to rinse and dry Sticky Buddy to continue use. Apart from that aspect it works really well and if you have no more than 1 roller full of hair or bits it does a great job!

I bought this to specifically clean up my pet hair. It cleans it up -- but after a few strokes over your clothing or anything else, you have to wash it. It was very easy to use but not fun having to run to a sink every few strokes. I took mine back and got the $10 back...

I always seen the ads on tv for the Schticky buddy, this does not work as well as the one advertised. While it does clean up lint and hair off clothes and furniture, it can only be used for little projects. I tried to do a pair a capris and a skirt and i had to use both the big one and the travel size because they fill up so fast. When they are full you are supposed to run it under water and it "may take a little rubbing" they are wrong it takes a lot of rubbing to get the stuff off. Also they say not to use a towel and to let air dry becasue the towel will shed and on tv they wipe it on a kitchen towel three times and then throw it at the walll. I was not impressed nor will it even get the lint off of things that i need it to before filling the sticky part up and not being able to do anymore.

  • A. Are you cleaning & drying it per the instructions? I have had this same product for several years & mine still works the same as the day I bought it. It really doesn't matter which brand of sticky roller you use, but it is imperative that you follow the instructions when cleaning, because that can make it "seem" like it isn't sticky anymore. The sticky rollers are totally reusable, but it does need to be clean & free of debris in order to work. When just rinsing the roller is no longer doing the trick or it seems like your roller has run out of stickiness, just follow these quick & easy steps to make it usable again. I periodically clean mine using dish soap & water. Add a decent amount of dish soap & wash it under the faucet to add water. You can use your hand (not fingernails) or a soft wash cloth. Work up a good lather & then rinse it clean under the faucet when done. When you wash it like this, all of the micro particles & oily residues will wash away so that the roller is no longer coated. Once the roller is clean, let it dry thoroughly. Just make sure you are not letting it dry on any type of "fuzzy" dish towel/cloth. If you don't want to wait until the sticky roller is dry, you can pat it dry with a lint free towel. The roller will never be sticky when wet, but after you clean it and let it dry all the way, it will be just as sticky as the first time you used it.

  • A. You need to rinse it with water. The roller probably is all filled with hair and no room to pick up hair or lint.
