Rated 1 out of 5 by riverrat68 Very poor design Compared with 4 other dehydrators brands same class, same production, same time. Definitely last choice if you buy a dehydrator. Even with rotation, food takes 2.5 to 3 times as long to dehydrate. Very uneven cooking between tray heights and even on the individual trays (some cooked, some raw...with jerky products this could be dangerous). Other brands produced evenly cooked jerky 7.5 to 8 hrs. This one varied from 17 to 22 hrs same meat products (yes, unit was heating, seems dependent upon room temps) Final result of very uneven cooking. Tried all settings, Even tried alternating tray levels with 3rd attempt (not needed other brands)...fear of long cooking time with uneven cooking wasted 3 loads jerky. NO problems other brands producing at same time. 12/04/2008
Rated 4 out of 5 by dlblair OK Product This product was O.K. for what was paid for it and it did its job very well. It just feels a little cheap and the trays are a little flimsy. I haven't broken anything YET but I feel that it won't take much for that to happen. It did dry the products as it was supposed to but it wasn't really quiet while doing it. I'll continue to use it as much as I can and hopefully my feelings will be wrong. 11/15/2008
Rated 2 out of 5 by terryducktale A poor product I found this product to not meet my expectations. Except for apples,The drying time on fruits is to be 60-110 hours. I have had dehydrators in the past but it never took over 20 hours to dry anything! And the first time I washed it by hand in soapy water the bottom rack broke and it is the only rack you can have on the bottom as it is the one that makes it turn.But, I think you get what you pay for. If anyone wants a dehydrator that really works, expect to pay between $150.00 and $200.00 for one. 09/26/2008
Rated 1 out of 5 by Angel05 Aroma 5 Tier Dehydrator It broke with in the 1st week I had it. The trays melted! I contacted Aroma and they said I would have new trays in April - 2 months after the fact that I bought it online. Its Sept. and I still dont have it. 09/07/2008
