First review for me on Walmart – very busy so taking the time for this says a lot about how much I like this product.
I was looking for clear PVC pipe to make a tube aquarium. I contacted a few PVC manufactures for scraps and only one was kind enough to get back to me but the sizes they could provide me were no longer than a regular aquarium. Also the prices of the end caps brought cost up big time ($500+)
So I was shocked when I found this $10.00 alternative at Walmart. I bought 3 for our 2 ½ year old beta (little guy just keeps on going)
They connect left and right of each other with o-rings and a ¼ turn pressure clamp. Very easy, takes about 2 seconds to connect.
Stack-able but not via water – you can place them on top of one another but the base is NOT able to allow water transfer – so you are just putting one on top of another. No different than stacking water bowls on top of one another. I was disappoint to see this but the logistics of making it water tight and the risk of a lead killing the fish is a real possibility. If the o-ring leaks on the left or right side, it would leave enough water to keep the fish going till you can save them.
However this isn't a total loss on being stack-able. If you don't know Betas are very aggressive fish and if you put anything else in with them … they'll probably kill it. (i.e. gold fish)
We are thinking of getting about 10 more and building kitchen counter backsplash with them. Allowing the Beta's to have their own home and then stack up others species around them.
Great Price – after 1 day so far no leaks.
Wish list: I wish the manufacture would build attachments such as corner pieces, 4 cross sections, maybe a vertical “S”
