Yes. Without the clip on guides, it is like any barber's trimmer. Almost as close as shaving. I love my kit I got at Wal-Mart. i do not know how they can be of such professional quality and so inexpensive. Even came with a hair brush, clipper cleaning brush,clipper blade lubricant, many hair length guides, etc. The kit paid for by not visiting a barber once.

I have never used the T-Outliner Trimmer, but I can assure you that this set will cut down to the skin very cleanly with no guard attached.

Does it cut as close as the Andis T-Outliner Trimmer?

This clipper is not exactly quiet, but it does an excellent job, wahl clippers are somewhat softer, but if your young doesn't keep still they tend to snag.

I'd say they are pretty quiet compared to my previous Wahl trimmer. My previous Wahl trimmer was much louder.

These clippers are not very noisy. However, if you have any concerns, go to the Wal-Mart sporting goods department and obtain some of those neat little plastic, re-usable ear plugs that are never going to get stuck in your childs ears, are very sanitary, washable and dirt cheap.

Pretty darn quiet. To be agitated by the noise you'd have to have super sensitive hearing.

These are not quiet but well worth the money. Do you plan on using them on your child? If so I suggest some ear plugs.

The closest guide is a 1/16th. I'll let you make the conversion to mm.

I have used this hair cutting kit for over three years now. I cut my own hair. With the clip on cutting guides, they do not go up to 30mm. ( i.e. 30mm/25.4mm = 1.2 inches ) You will have to have someone help you cut your hair using scissors and a comb like barbers and hair salons do. I use iit for a buzz cut and for when I let my hair grow out.

If you want a clip on comb type guard to assist you in getting a longish 30mm cut, you might try visiting your local beauty supply store, or online to see if you can find a guard that fits this clipper with the desired length designation. I think I&#39;ve found them as high as 1 1/2 inches.

Different clipper brands and types have different guards, be sure to get one that fits your clipper. It&#39;s no fun to have a guard slip during a cut!

I was recommended this product from my barber. As am african-American male, it is a tedious task trying to maintain a close shave, and straying away from in-grown hair bumps and or razor bumps. This product definitley was my key to reliefe.

This clipper pretty much takes you the closest you can get to a razor. It's amazing because it's the same thing as a Andis T-Outliner, but $15-20 cheaper. I only used it twice, but I really like this thing so far.

Great clipper!

Going bald so needed a bald shaver-this does the job.  If it holds up then no more going over my head with regular clippers and following up with hair/beard trimmers.  This has cut my grooming time in half.   Wish I was not so scared before that I would nick my head and instead invested in these years ago.   Did not nick me no matter how much pressure I put on it.   (A non ridiculous amount of pressure ofcourse lol)

Going bald?  Get this low priced option!

Very close shave/buzz without using an actual Razer. I actually prefer this over a blade to th scalp. Great product.  Grab a can of cleaning spray/oil and you'll have a five star experience.

Really Close

Cuts close. A much closer cut than Remington or Wahl Shavers sold at Walmart. Doesn't leave any razor burn on me, and no need to apply pressure with the razor. Just sweep across the face and let the clippers do the work.

Quality Clipper

Needed to replace our current cutters that I dropped  after 7 years.  Glad I was able to purchase the same model.  Works great on those close cuts.  Very happy with this brand.....

perfect for close cuts

i bought this trimmer and for 4 months it worked great. very sharp blades. powerful motor. then in the 5 th month the motor began to die. walmart allowed me to exchange it for another identical one so we'll see how long it lasts. and i only used the first one 3 times per week.

When I finally received my order, I opened the box and could tell right away that the item was not brand new. Everything was haphazardly thrown in the box. I plugged the clippers in and they made a very odd noise. I went to check the screws to see if any were loose and there was hair in the screws. This confirmed the fact that the clippers were used and not brand new. They will be returned. Very disappointed in Walmart.
