It's a cable. You're not sending a rocket into outer space folks. Cable was perfect, did what it was supposed to, picture still looks great. I was using component video before and wanted 1 cable instead of 5. No reason to spend more for one of these, and for 97¢ it was shipped to my house, cheaper than my time to drive to the store, let alone buy one of these in the store for 2x the price.

I couldn't find a higher quality HDMI cable anywhere for a lower price. You could pay $50 in-store for another one that's not as good (or as capable - since this one even transmits ethernet between components). Even though I'm not using the ethernet feature currently, it's good to know I won't have to purchase another cable in the future in case I need that capability. The picture and sound quality are as good as anything I've seen anywhere. Amazon is trying to market its own brand of reasonably priced HDMI cables. The reviews are sporadic on those. This one supports more features for half the price.

I needed a high speed cable to go from my Bluray to a home theater(which is 1.4). I didn't need a 1.4 but I thought I would give it a try. Works fine with my system. Mind that I'm not using the ARC and Ethernet part of the 1.4, just the high speed part.

    • A. No, it only plugs into an hdmi port. I believe they have some that have hdmi on one side and usb on the other. I also thing they have usb adapters that you could put on one end of an hdmi cable like this one.

    • A. If every component you have has an hdmi slot, then yes. The wii doesnt need it. If you want the wii to be at maximum clarity, try the component cable (five cable system...Red, Blue, Green for video, Red and white for audio). Check your satellite and dvd player for HDMI inputs.

    • A. If they all support HDMI and you want the better picture then yes you will need three HDMI cables. If you don't need the higher video quality you can just use the AV cable that came with the Wii and whatever else came with other components. There is an Ampac HDMI cable available on Walmart's website that is very inexpensive and I would highly recommend it. It's only $10 and it will do the same thing the $40+ cables will do.

    • A. Yes, you will. They transfer video and audio from the device to your TV. However, you must make sure you have an HDMI outlet on your satellite box and DVD player. For the Wii, you will need a special cable, as it does not have a standard HDMI output on its end.

    • A. Yes you need a cable for each component. Although unless the new ones are different, WII doesn't use HDMI. It uses component (red, blue, green). Check the back of each unit to verify.
