Rated 5 out of 5★ by Mcarthurdw Great Product for the price The Amethyst M17GR 3.0 Bluetooth Speaker can be described in one word, WOW!This speaker is an outstanding value. While small and unobtrusive, in weighs in at about 2.5 Lbs., the sound it produces is both clear and powerful. The Amethyst is packed with great features, the least of which is its portability. It comes with a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery that offers hours of playtime without a recharge. The fact that it is Bluetooth 3.0 means not only the fastest wireless data speeds, but also paring contrast, so that Bluetooth connections are automatic. Another great feature is voice prompt, so it can be used as a speaker phone, awesome when you are hanging out at your pool. It has touch sensitive controls which greatly reduces wear and tear on the various controls.Don't have a Bluetooth device? The Amethyst M17GR has you covered! Not only does it include a USB port, to allow you to recharge everything from your phone to your MP3 Player, but also an AUX port for MP3, PC, CD, etc devices.Being from Central Florida, we entertain a lot in our Florida Room. Previously we used amplified computer speakers connected to our MP3 player for our music. While they did an okay job, it was use one of the few power outlets in the Florida Room, or run an extension cord if we were grilling on the back patio. The Amethyst M17GR has done a great job of resolving that issue. Thanks to that Lithium Ion battery, we are no longer limited to the nearest power outlet, or extension cords. As far as sound goes, the Amethyst speaker blows my amplified PC speakers out of the water. The difference in sound is amazing. 12/13/2013
Rated 3 out of 5★ by CharmeusePrincess Amazing bass! I really enjoyed listening to music through this speaker. The music had such a pure and beautiful quality to it, and the bass was amazing! The only problem I had was that the songs seemed to skip in certain places. I have an Android phone, and I was using Cricket's Muve Music player. I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but the directions did mention something about certain music players being the best to use, and perhaps avoiding third party music players.I think if I probably used the suggested players, everything would have been perfect.I have the red color system, and the material is somewhat rubbery, so I felt like dust and hair and such stuck to the material a lot. I think this will need to be wiped down regularly, especially if you live in a dusty home.I thought the directions were a little hard to understand, so I tossed them aside and just went under my phone's wireless and Bluetooth settings to connect it to the speaker. 12/15/2013
