Rated 3 out of 5 by avemaria92 good rake but you need strength to use it.. the design of the rake is good and it's very sturdy (though the pole is slightly long for me in what i'm used to in a rake, and i'm 5'8"... I guess I just got used to my cheap shorter rake I had prior).. but what I couldn't escape with this rake, no matter what angle or switching of arms I tried, was the fact it's just heavy enough to be too heavy for a rake.. and it left the joints in my shoulders sore after a short time.. the head of the rake is pretty bulky and weighty for a rake.. combined with the longer handle which doesn't allow you to hold the end of it with one hand for leverage like with shorter handle rakes.. so if you're reaching it longer, you're holding more weight on the dominant arm.. sure it can pick up a lot, but what's the point if it's hurting you while you do it? so I got instead the Fiskars 9660 24-Inch Leaf Rake, which is of similar design, but the rake itself is lighter and much easier to use.. I can only describe it as a relief to use.. it's lighter but is just as strongly built.. so for now i'm happy with the Fiskars rake I replaced this rake with, and i'm not sore like I was with the Ames rake.. i'm not sure how long it will last but it seems durable.. and if it should break, it has a lifetime warrantee.. can't beat that. 12/31/2012
