We bought this kitchen for our sons second birthday. My husband spent a little over half an hour putting it together. It was kind of a pain getting all the pieces apart since they are all on plastic sheets you have to snap off, but most of the kitchens i looked into had the same thing. My son LOVES the kitchen!!! The burners light up and make cooking noises and he thinks the timer is just too funny. For $40 bucks, you can't get a better deal. We weren't sure if it would be a hit or not, so we didn't want to spend $100 on something that would sit and collect dust. He plays with it every day and its keeping him from wanting to play in mommy's kitchen :) ... If your in the market for a kitchen set, this is a good one to get. One word to the wise, buy a small play food set since the kitchen doesn't come with any food.

our three year old loves this kitchen and so does the almost 11 year old ;-) it was somewhat time consuming to put together (at least for someone like me) but at the same time it was also fun. Beware, make sure that before you snap two pieces together that they really belong that way--I snapped a door together upside down and my husband had to work hard to undo it--it is plastic, so once snapped together, you don't want to force it and possibly brake it. If this is a gift for someone, please let them know, whoever is putting it together to put away probably an hour and half and maybe put it together prior to giving it to the child--my daughter was good natured about it, but still had to ask her to stop pushing it and playing with it, while I was trying hard to put it together ;-) I do need to ask for a replacement dish or two, came bent/broken, but everything else was fine. Do make sure you have the "clipper" tool. I think one little downside was the phone, my daughter thought she could push the buttons and the phone would make sounds, the stove makes sounds and it lights up, it could be red next time, maybe.. just a thought... But a very nice little kitchen, we really like it. Just be prepared for the assembly time ;-) I gave it four stars due to a couple of broken/bent items and due to the assembly "efforts"...

I got this as a gift for my granddaughter. I put it together without problem. It is comparable to ones costing a lot more money. The only problem was that the burner unit had been damaged in shipment. I contacted the company on their web site and explained the problem. They did not hesitate or make me jump through hoops. They immediately sent a replacement part and the unit is perfect for my granddaughter now. Mine is not the color of this one. Mine is white, gray, amber and pink.

This is my daughter's first play kitchen. In the beginning, I initially wanted to get her a wooden play kitchen though the price was out of my budget. I saw this in walmart and I wanted to get her the pink one for girls but they were all sold out. I am overall glad I picked this green kitchen up because it adds a different color to her room other than only pink. My daughter is 3 years old and plays with this gently so I don't worry about her breaking it. While putting this together it took me only an hour I did put it together by myself. All the pieces were there and none were luckily damaged. This kitchen is a great size and the table counter is a great height for her to grow into. The quality isn't superb but it will last her and she will grow into it. The height from the bottom to the kitchen counter is about 23.5 inches. The overall height is about 37.5 inches.

I am wanting to know if the oven and refrigerator compartments open and do they have shelves inside to put things inside. I want a kitchen system that can be used like a real kitchen and able to store items in proper places. Thanks.

    • A. Oven, Fridge and Dishwasher all open and have shelves inside. Also the "water/ice dispenser" on the fridge moves like one on a real fridge. Oven and dishwasher have knobs that move, too. Sink knobs turn, stovetop lights up and makes boiling or sizzling sounds when pot is put on it. Microwave opens up and there are hooks for spatulas and a holder for play phone. There are 2 storage bins for the plates, and cups and such.

    • A. I have an in-home daycare. My kids are 2-4 years old and love this kitchen. My granddaughter is 7 years old and loves to play with it also, but she is much taller than the kitchen....something bigger would probably be better.
