Good Mattress Cover for Those with Allergies I purchased two of these, one for the mattress and one for the box springs, when I purchased a new mattress/springs set. They are a little spendy, but WAY less than the not-as-good set the bedding store was trying to "force" me to buy. (The mattress/springs are returnable ONLY if you purchase their set of covers for over $200!! I wasn't going to return them anyway.)I would say my new mattress/springs are "hermetically sealed" because I couldn't get all the air out before zipping it up and, even after 6 months, there is still a little "poofiness" when you sit/lay on the bed due to the air in there. I figure if that little bit of air that's under the cover is pretty much sealed in, then I don't believe any critters can get in either. I also haven't had a bit of allergy problem after changing out the mattress/springs and covering with a good set of covers, not the stretch-around-the-sides type I had before.I would also recommend the same type of pillow covers to complete the set. It's a little more expensive this way, but should last a long, long time, and if you have allergies it's well worth it, IMHO. 03/10/2012
This is a comfort cover...not a mattress cover! I bought this for my parents...turns out it's a comfort (blanket) cover NOT a matress cover.Oh well...it was for a trip they were taking and we made due. 01/07/2011

Happy with this cover... Allergy-covers can be very expensive. This one is well-priced, very nice quality, and was easy to install (have someone help you so you don't tear it). It is soft, doesn't make "crinkle sounds" when you lay on it, and appears to ease my allergies. You need two of them - one for box spring and one for mattress if you want to minimize allergies. I am not sure how waterproof it is, though. I also bought pillowcase covers. 05/23/2012
