Review by Library Journal (2011-10-01)

In 2010, coach Chizik led Alabama's Auburn Tigers to the national college football championship and helped quarterback Cam Newton win the Heisman Trophy. The coach's game-by-game account of this season occupies roughly a quarter of his tale. Chizik also describes his previous seasons as a head coach, two at Iowa State before coming to Auburn, where he had been an assistant coach, but his story concerns what he calls "the God thing" as much as it does football.

Auburn won, according to Chizik, because of the values and togetherness he instilled in his players. At first, reader Kelly Ryan Dolan doesn't seem the football coach type, but eventually his gee-willikers, sincere style fits the material. This program should appeal to those who enjoy inspirational sports stories.
