The manufacturer does not recommend using this on a glass top stove. If you have it filled with quarts, it gets extremely heavy and your stove can crack.

I would think this would be true of all canners but you could check the manufactures websites of others to confirm.

As a side note, I LOVED my AA 925 that I had my glass top changed out for gas. Money well spent.

This canner should be O.K. for any cook top surface. The real question is, can the cook top support the weight of the canner when loaded? This canner is VERY heavy when full.

ALL-AMERICAN Pressure Cookers have a metal-to-metal seal; no gasket.

It&#39;s metal to metal, no gaskets to wear out or replace. A very light film of Vaseline is all that is needed to lubricate the contact areas and it seals great. The Vaseline prevents the lid from seizing to the canner body, due to high temperature &amp; pressure.

Is this canner metal to metal or does it need gaskets?

This is a awesome canner. Without a doubt, will last a few lifetimes. Heavy metal construction seams bomb proof. Excellent value for the quality of canner.

This is our first year using this canner and it has already earned it's keep. Processing 14 quarts at a time is a real time saver. Very good quality and works flawlessly. We're actually considering buying a second one and retiring our older 7 quart canners. A must have if you grow a large garden or process a large amount of vegetables or fruit.

I love everything about this canner! It has done a very good job and holds a lot of jars at one time. It is very easy to use. I wish I had bought this years ago! It makes canning a lot easier.

This is a fabulous pressure canner. A quality canner. I wanted to be able to can more than 7 quarts at a time and this will let me do 14 quarts at one time. These are difficult to find because they are quality and many people are now gardening and canning their own produce.

The All American pressure canners are the Cadillac of canners.. and thus very hard to get right now what with the concern so many people have about stores running low on food. A company rep for the Wisconsin Foundry told me that the company has a 6 week lead time on filling orders on all their models. I was told there was 16,000 unit orders in front of me. Thank God, I located a model 930 on Walmart.com and it was sitting in my kitchen in less than 72 hours from the time I tapped the submit order button. Free delivery via FedEx. I've read some older reviews that these pressure canners have small pits or blemishes in their finish due to the casting molds. Not my unit. My unit has a smooth flawless mirror bright finish on the outside... and the inside is also blemish free... just not as polished as the outside. The unit came with a instruction booklet that also includes some basic canning recipes. It aslo comes with 2 canning racks... 1 for the bottom and 1 for the 2nd layer of jars. The 930 is a fairly large unit. The shipping weight was listed at 29.3 pounds. I have a glass top electric stove. These units are not to be used on glass top or small coil electric stoves. I'm going to be using a single burner propane turkey fryer stove. I've watched a number of Youtube videos of people canning this way. This canner is simple to use. Just watch a couple of YouTube videos and you won't have any problem. I highly recommend this canner. Just as a precaution.. I ordered a backup pressure guage for $17.  And a couple of extra over pressure plugs for $4 each. Those are about the only 2 parts that might possibly wear out after a few years of heavy use. I just wanted them on hand because you never know what supply shortages might occur in the future and these parts are priced cheap.. but judging by the workmanship of this canner.. it will be years before they might be needed.

Great canner, but the over pressure plug was damaged. I had to rush order a new plug. Hopefully it gets here before the 50lbs of tomatoes I have go bad

Nice looking canner but the first thing I noticed when opening the box is that the lids handle was broken into several pieces and the surface finish inside the pot is so rough you can file down your nails on it.
