Well designed and well engineered My wife has COPD. I want to get the air in our bedroom as clean as possible when she sleeps. This unit is quiet on low speeds, very energy efficient, and has a very low long term cost to operate. One reason is that pleated air conditioner filters can be used. It does not require specialty filters. I love being able to set it to turn itself off in the early morning hours. This is a very well designed and constructed product. A Must for Allergy Sufferers When my daughter was diagnosed with severe allergies, our pediatrician recommended we purchase an air purifier. I could've bought an air purifier that was less than $100 but after doing research, most of those models have expensive replacement filters, need to be changed very often & they tend to be noisy. So, I upgraded to the AirTamer because the replacement filters were inexpensive & it has a wide coverage than most purifiers. Its slim & doesn't look out of place in a room. My daughter has been using this for over a year & it works! She uses it mostly at night during the allergy seasons. This does emit a humming noise & gets louder depending on the level. Most nights we are between level 1 or 2. We love the auto shutoff feature too. I know this purifier works because on certain nights during allergy season when she forgets to use it, she wakes up in the middle of the night with a stuffy nose. I recommend this product for anyone suffering from allergies. Yes, its more expensive than other brands but well worth the price. 05/05/2012
