A Good Value We researched and found this was the best bargain and quality for the money! As everyone else mentioned, carefully lay out and label all the lumber!Directions and illustrations were right on, but we had a Walmart ad with a color picture of the assembled product which was a big help! One slight problem, I replaced the center board supporting the floor boards in the club house with a pressure treated 1 x 4 cut to length. I also used 1 1/2 inch galvanized deck screws to attach the floor boards to the pressure treated piece, but I screwed them from the top boards into the presssure treated board, instead of screwing them up from the bottom into the floor boards, like the directions said. The floor is now much more stable and can hold my 35 lbs grandsons and their friends without sagging. When tightening lag bolts, be careful not to overtighten. Assembly took about 20 hours with many breaks in the 90 degree weather. I highly reccomend this set! 06/09/2009
Best Swing Set For the Money! The swing set is easy to set up; it's just time consuming, which is a small price to pay for such a fabulous set. My husband put this together in about 2 days, preparing first by labeling the pieces with chalk. When the neighborhood kids stopped by to test out the set, 2 kids jumped on the swings, 2 on the glider and the set didn't budge; it is extremely sturdy. My children love the fort and the picnic table. Other discount stores and warehouse clubs have similar sets for double the price, if not higher. The instruction manual is pretty good too; a few typos, but nothing too severe. 05/28/2009
nice set We bought this set for our 7 and 4 year old. It is a nice set, but very time consuming. As most of the reviews have said it isn't the quality of the $1,000-$2,000 sets, but it is very nice. As most have said, label your peices before you start! The only complaint I have is the hardware. We had 5 or 6 bolts that were bad and had to replace them. But that was still alot cheaper than buying the more expensive brands! All and all, yes I would reccomend this set, just make sure you have a helping hand and a couple free days to build it! 05/12/2009
great product! I highly recommend the Meridian swingset. Assembly of the swingset is fairly easy as long as you follow the directions exactly. It took my husband approx. 18 hrs to build. It was missing 2 lag screws which were easily purchased from the hardware store. The only advice I would give is to pre-drill everything and to seal the wood. We did, and had no problems with the wood splitting. We have 3 kids ages 3-9 yrs and they all LOVE it! Its a great price compared to many similiar products that are twice the amount.(we did a lot of research) The overall quality is great. 05/09/2009
