Rated 3 out of 5 by Robert1211 Cant beat the price for what it does. I had an old wired unit that would give me the inside and the outside temp side by side so I could compair. When the old door was replaced with a new one this went in the trash. I found that after 20 years I got use to looking for the real outside temp. not the one the weather Chanel would show from the air port. I knew they made these things wireless now so I took a look. The first one I found was at Home Depot $15.95 had a great lay out but it was defective. The inventory looked old and faded so I thought I would order a new one from Walmart. The Walmart unit was good but on the downside.... The display is way 2 small for a unit that has to display outside inside and time. second down is the remote has to be moved during the course of the day because direct sunlight would false read all these units. Third downside is the remotes on these units are not weather proof. Strange for something that's going to be outside 24/7. No direct rain, no direct sun is impossible for me. After reading reviews they all said that over time the remote would go bad. If not weather proof I would think so. Although this is only $10.00 in my hand there are 2 many downsides for this item. If I were to do it again and I will the thing to do is compare them on the A CU-RITE website pick out the one that fits your needs the best then order from Walmart 08/28/2012

Outside unit can hang most anywhere easily but I would suggest a fairly rainproof location would be helpful although it says weather resistant. Seems vey accurate. I checked its readings against several weather websites for my area and all agreed within 1 degree . 05/05/2012
