Feeling good about my dog's safety I have tried other safety restraint products for my dogs but none gave me the secure feeling I get from the ASPCA travel harness. My dogs always want to jump in the front seat, which isn't always practical and definitely isn't safe. Trying to get them in and out of crates isn't always practical, the crates take up a lot of space, and they don't sit securely in the seat.I tried the car seat barrier that fits between the two front seats but my 15lb dogs can jump over without much trouble.Last weekend I purchased the safety harness for my dogs (size small). The harness was easy to put on and very simple to adjust to their size. There's plenty of length in the straps for the suggested weight range. I let the dogs walk around the house in their harnesses for a little while - neither of them seemed bothered by it. Since their adjustments are different, I marked the front of the harnesses with a sharpie, using the first letter of their names.Attaching the tether strap in my car was a little bit tricky but I managed to accomplish this in just a few minutes. At first my dogs whined a bit at not being able to jump into the front seat but eventually laid down for the remainder of the ride.I feel so much better knowing my dogs are now safely tethered in the back seat! 04/01/2010

The best!!! I've always been a "dog person" and now train dogs for a part-time job. I know the benefits of crating for you and your pet's safety (and advocate it), but always felt horrible because my dog's crate couldn't fit in my car securely. I've researched many brands of car restraints for what I was looking for... a secure, comfortable, easy to use harness that hooked securely to the car, not just looped through the belt. I found it online and then to my surprise, I found it even cheaper at Walmart! I used it and my dog doesn't mind it one bit. She's a tad annoyed that she doesn't have the freedom to bounce around like she used to, but she's content and comfortable. I will say, however, that she is 37 lbs and fits into a medium perfectly. If your dog is closer to the 50 lb mark, you may want to bump up to the large. 09/11/2010
Size matters This product runs VERY SMALL in size. Order one size bigger than the weight category listed for your pet if you want it to fit 07/09/2010
