You can replace the battery at any time easily. Rated 5 out of 5Â by Lonewolf300800 Great Upgrade option recently purchased this unit as a replacement for a 7 year old unit that would no longer function properly, even after a new battery was installed. very happy with the unit thus far and it was very easy to install. i actually downloaded the driver from the apc website and bypassed the installation CD and it's add-ons that are not necessarily needed. Great product, very pleased with its performance. 08/11/2012
