Movie Description

The following content was provided by the publisher.

"Eddie And The Cruisers" - 1983 (PG) - They say rock 'n' roll never dies, but one dark night in 1963, Eddie Wilson's car took a dive off a Jersey bridge with the troubled rock idol at the wheel. His body was never found. Tom Berenger ("Platoon"), Michael Pare ("Streets of Fire") and Ellen Barkin ("Sea of Love") star in this cool, compelling classic that really rocks! Twenty years after the lead singer (Pare) of "Eddie and the Cruisers" disappeared, the bands songs are hotter than ever. And renewed interest in the band leads TV reporter Maggie Foley (Barkin) to pursue a tantalizing mystery: What if Eddie is still alive? The circumstances surrounding his death are just shadowy enough to make it a distinct possibility, and someone (could it be Eddie?) has been ransacking the homes of surviving band members in a desperate search for tapes of the group's visionary, never-released album. As Maggie interviews the former "Cruisers", the pieces of the puzzle start to fit... but only until still deeper mysteries begin to surface. "Eddie And The Cruisers II: Eddie Lives!" - 1989 (PG-13) - Get ready to rock! Michael Pare reprise his role as the hot-blooded rebel rocker Eddie Wilson - who after twenty years - still has "the kind of charisma that drives adolescent girls wild" (L.A. Herald-Examiner). At the height of fame, rock legend Eddie Wilson (Pare) drove his car into the river and disappeared from the limelight. Twenty years later his band Eddie and the Cruisers is hotter than ever. Posing as construction worker Joe West, Eddie has maintained a quiet life in Canada. But his relentless desire to make music pulls him back to the stage where he forms a new band and an even better sound. Meanwhile, to cash in on the revived interest in the band, Satin records executives release an Eddie and the Cruisers "lost tapes" album and promote a worldwide search for the mysterious rocker. As his new band hits center stage, Eddie finally faces the past - his way.

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5★ by 49reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by a good movie I was very glad to see both episodes on one disc, and I was glad they finally came out with Eddie Lives too. These are two very good movies. 08/23/2008
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Great Rocking twin bill This 2 pack movie set is very entertaining, especially if you like 60's 70's rock & roll. Eddie is a rebel rocker who has a passion and energy for the music he likes to play. He forms a group that understands his passion and understands what kind of statement he wants to project to his listeners and fans. Everything is fine until the big record & music producers want to commericalize his music. The only way Eddie can escape from the trappings of all this is to run away and hide from eveyone. Unfortunately there is a terrible accident, Eddies car is discovered in a river after plunging from a bridge. His body can not be found. Is he dead or alive? that my friend you will have to watch the second movie to find out! Even though the second movie isn't as good as the first. It is still entertaining and it finalizes the last chapter of Eddies career. I highly reccommend this movie set. 12/07/2008

Rated 1 out of 5★ by walmart .com is a great service that I use when I can't find an item in the store. I picked up one copy for a friend and got one for myself. 03/13/2013
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Super Movie This was the best movie. I have been looking for this movie for at least 2 years. It was sure worth the wait. The price was reasonable for 2 movies even though I already had the first part. 07/08/2008
Rated 5 out of 5★ by This movie brought back memories of the eighties so I just had to get it. 10/17/2011
Rated 2 out of 5★ by I loved both movie's on VHS I would like for Wall Mart to add the Wide Screen Ratio on their adds. I do not like wide screen or even letter box styles of DVD movie's. I feel that it should be a law that all movie's should be sold in the format where you choose whether you prefer wide screen or full frame. I have quite a few Dvd's that are formatted that way. I would even be willing to pay extra to have them this way. When I try to watch wide screen movie's, I always end up with a migraine headache. Wall Mart you should strive to purchase more of your DVD's in the Full Frame format. You would certainly get more of my money if you did. Thanks Sandra 09/04/2013
