After shopping around and realizing I didn't need bells and whistles (ex. side burner for cooking beans or something...I can use my stove for that, I want a grill for...well, grilling), I decided to try this grill out since the price was so low. I must say after all said and done, I'm happy with this purchase. The smell of a steak grilling over this grill's open flame is just as satisfying as any model many $100s more. Unless you are cooking for 5 or more people, the cooking area is plenty. I cooked 2 good-size sirloins and had room for 1 or 2 more. It also has another smaller rack for buns, potatoes, bread, corn, etc. If you are going to assemble it yourself, allow about 2 hours, as you put EVERYTHING together from scratch. Only assemble tip I would give is make sure you determine the Left leg and Right leg before continuing (they are exactly alike except for one thing not emphasized in instructions). You have it right when the 2 screw holes at the top of each leg (where the actual grill chamber will be screwed into) are closer towards the INSIDE of the frame. Also, watch the paint, as it can chip off very easily during assembly (I don't think will be a problem with everyday use). Again, if you want tasty grilled food just as the guy who spent $300 to $500 for his grill...go for this. Take care.

The Little Grill that Could!

I am very pleased with this product. I purchased it online, and opted for "Standard" ground shipping, and to my delight, it was sitting on my balcony the following afternoon when I returned from work! Setup does take a good 1-2 hrs; I'm pretty mechanically inclined so it took me just over an hour or so. READ the comment that Fatherof4yrold wrote- about being SURE you distinguish the LEFT from RIGHT leg. I thought I did, but alas, I had them reversed and it required about a 10 minute setback of reverse assembly, correct the mistake, and reassemble. But once assembled, the grill works flawlessly, and I've been in grilling heaven for weeks now!

I bought this grill a few weeks ago. I could not assemble it myself, so my dad put it together for me. He's pretty good at assembling things, so it was not difficult for him, but it took a little over an hour. We had been using a travel grill before this, so I am having a great time using this grill. It cooks much faster than the travel grill did, and it is so much more convenient. It doesn't fit very much, (about 6 hamburgers and a few hotdogs just to give you an idea about the size) but it is plenty for a small family. One thing to note is that some of the paint chips off as you assemble it, and some was already chipped off when I opened the box. You will need to buy a grill cover if you don't want it to get rusty in those spots.

While this is a cheap grill, it fits my needs exactly. I don't want a side burner & all of the fancy stuff. I just wanted a grill to cook steaks on...& it does that wonderfully!~ Now if you've never cooked on a gas grill then there is a learning curve using gas versus charcoal. But, that will be something you would deal with regardless of which gas grill you choose. Nearly all of the new gas grills come with a "heat tent" instead of the old Lava rocks that cooked much more evenly than the tents do & they didn't flair up as badly. They cooked nearly like charcoal, but a whole lot cheaper, but you will get used to the "tent". I purchased this grill because it was a "Charbroil", a well known name in the grill department, so that I could buy replacement tents as needed from WalMart or many other places. Mine normally last about 2 years, but I grill a lot. Two years ago I purchased some off brand grill & the burner was not stainless steel (like the Charbroil is) and parts were not available. So, it was trashed due to a rusted out burner & tent! This grill works great if used properly. Just be sure & turn the control knobs off first & then your gas bottle off so that you can reverse that order for a quick lighting grill ( no air gets into the lines this way ) and for safety sake you should always turn the gas off at the bottle after grilling regardless of the grill! Mine lights with the first click of the ignitor every time!!! Again it's a great grill for the average person & the price is right and gas gas is much cheaper than charcol!!! NOW, the CONS: The instructions are total garbage and the pictures they show with the instructions don't even match up. They have you putting pieces on, then taking them of etc. etc.!!! BUT, WalMart will assemble it for free!!!! I highly recommend that service. The box said 30-35 minutes to assemble. It took me that long to get all the pieces out of the box! :0) I consider myself pretty good at assembly of things and following directions, but the directions have to be right or you can't follow them! They are honestly the WORST instructions I've ever seen!!!!!!!!! So, do yourself a favor, let WalMart fight the dang thing, after all...assembly is free!!!!

I agree with the other reviewer that once you figure out how to assemble this grill it is great for the value. Love the way it cooks. Like the other person said, trying to figure out which leg was the left and which was the right and make sure you got the right top on the right leg was a challenge. My 17 year old daughter & I put this together by ourselves and after many false starts (well, actually once we were completely done but discovered when we went to install the tank we had made a mistake in right leg vs left back on the first step and had to disassemble and start over), we did get it put together and working in less than 3 hours. Only other complaint I had was that the foot on one of the right leg pieces (plastic piece) was broken off when I got it out of the box, but a piece of scrap wood cut to length and some duct tape fixed that. Didn't want to hassle with 2 women trying to load the whole thing back into our little Mazda to take it back to Walmart. All in all, great product for value but man the assembly instructions could be a LOT more clear!
