MISTAKE #1

Dickie Orr. Stephanie was married to him for about fifteen minutes before she caught him cheating on her with her arch-nemesis Joyce Barnhardt. Another fifteen minutes after that Stephanie filed for divorce, hoping to never see either one of them again.MISTAKE #2

Doing favors for super bounty hunter Carlos Manoso (a.k.a. Ranger). Ranger needs her to meet with Dickie and find out if he's doing something shady. Turns out, he is. Turns out, he's also back to doing Joyce Barnhardt. And it turns out Ranger's favors always come with a price...MISTAKE #3

Going completely nutso while doing the favor for Ranger, and trying to apply bodily injury to Dickie in front of the entire office. Now Dickie has disappeared and Stephanie is the natural suspect in his disappearance. Is Dickie dead? Can he be found? And can she stay one step ahead in this new, dangerous game? Joe Morelli, the hottest cop in Trenton, NJ is also keeping Stephanie on her toes--and he may know more than lets on about her...It's a cat-and-mouse game for Stephanie Plum, where the ultimate prize might be her life.

About the author

Biography of Evanovich, Janet

Janet Evanovich was born on April 22, 1943 in South River, New Jersey. She received a bachelor's degree in art from Douglas College, which is part of Rutgers University. She was working as a secretary for a temporary employment agency when she sold her first romance novel, Hero at Large, which was published in 1987 under the pseudonym Steffie Hall. She went on to write 12 romances in five years using her real name before beginning to write mysteries.

Her first mystery novel, One for the Money, became the first book in the Stephanie Plum series. The latest book in that series is called Notorious Nineteen. She is also the author of the Alex Barnaby series, A Between-the-Numbers Novel series and Full series with Charlotte Hughes. The Heist, which she co-wrote with Lee Goldberg, made the New York Times Best Seller list for 2013.

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5★ by 4reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Can't wait to get my hands on 14 I have loved all the Stephanie Plum novels ever since a co-worker turned me on to them. She can't write them fast enough to suit me. When I get a new one, I read straight through to the end, only stopping long enough for bathroom breaks and sometimes not even then. Each one has been better than the last. Number 13 did not disapoint. 06/24/2008
