Movie Description

The following content was provided by the publisher.

Young wizard-in-training Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) returns to Hogwarts for his fifth year of studies, only to find that the magical community seems to be in a curious state of denial about his recent encounter with the sinister Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) in the fifth installment of the popular fantasy film series based on the best-selling books by author J.K. Rowling. Rumor has it that the dreaded Lord Voldemort has returned, but Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge (Robert Hardy) isn't so sure what to make of all the hearsay currently floating around the campus of Hogwarts. Suspecting that Headmaster Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) may be fueling the rumors regarding Voldemort's return in order to undermine his authority and lay claim to his job, Fudge entrusts newly arrived Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Dolores Umbridge (Imelda Staunton) with the task of tracking Dumbledore and keeping a protective watch over the nervous student body. The young wizards of Hogwarts will need something much more effective than Umbridge's Ministry-approved course in defensive magic if they are to truly succeed in the extraordinary battle that lies ahead, however, and when the administration fails to provide the students with the tools that they will need to defend Hogwarts against the fearsome powers of the Dark Arts, Hermione (Emma Watson), Ron (Rupert Grint), and Harry take it upon themselves to recruit a small group of students to form "Dumbledore's Army" in preparation for the ultimate supernatural showdown. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi.

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5★ by 157reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Harry Potter-5 stars!!!! I always enjoy the Harry Potter movies. Sure I would like more of the books in them, but still it was a well-acted movie. I enjoyed the special effects, as always. The only problem was I sort of felt like it was phoned in. I wanted to know more about Kreacher, more special effects, more movie. It was short. But I liked it. 01/28/2008
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Harry Potter Does it Again the latest entry of the Harry Potter series of movies does not dissappoint as usual. Lots of action, a few new characters and a wonderful ride through Hogworts again. The film stayed close to the book again, but if you've read the book you'll notice some things left out, however this book was quite a large installment. Lots of fun again for Harry Potter fans. 12/21/2007
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Harry Potter could be better While my daughter loved the movie and the price wasn't so bad, I really disliked the fact that the foil is EASY to scratch off the top. Which, incidentally, ruins the movie. With in the first week of pretty decent care it was scratched. Who ever designed this should have put a protective coating on the data. 01/11/2008

Rated 5 out of 5★ by very good for Harry Potter fans it is very good and exciting. Must watch to see what happens to Harry Very exciting 12/30/2007
Rated 3 out of 5★ by quality going down with each movie I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter books, however my view of the movies have gone down with each one since the third one, it is my opinion that they leave out too much that needs to be there and put in too much that don't I realize that last couple of movies are taken from large books, however I also believe that a true Harry Potter fan would have sit through a four hour movie or even a two part movie to get the full content of the story, which we have not been getting and it is sad because the last movies could have been GREAT as it was the were simply mediocre at best, and they need to quit changing the characters roles, with this one they made Cho out to be the bad one and it was not her at all, they need to get the person back who made the first movies he obviously at least had read the books as his movies were great, with these last ones I don't think that they have even picked up the book it is as if they were given a preview and then made up the rest and not very well I might add. I would have liked to seen it the way it was written as I would have the last twoPrizoner was not as bad as Goblet but this one the worst so far 12/30/2007
Rated 3 out of 5★ by Not the Whole Package When I pre-ordered this product, I was assuming that it was the only product of its kind. I was not given the option to buy the "special edition". I did not even know that the special edition existed. I assumed that this DVD would have bonus features that were advertised in the commercials I saw. Needless to say, I was wrong and this DVD is nothing more than the basic movie seen in theaters. No extra footage, no deleted scenes, no games, nothing. 01/04/2008
