Movie Description

The following content was provided by the publisher.

Predecessor to Oliver Stone's "JFK" this film was one of the first to present an alternative to the Warren Report version of events. Mixing narrative segments with newsreel footage, the film tells the story of a group of powerful men who plot the assassination. First they must recruit and train a shooter, then frame Lee Harvey Oswald. A must-see for history buffs and conspiracy theorists, some credit this film with re-opening the debate about Kennedy's assassination.

Customer Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by supported by evidence I saw Executive Action in the theater soon after its release in 1973 and was so impressed with this film that I had to have my own personal copy of it.The original VHS is a collector item so I'm keeping it for that reason. Here's the description of the movie off the original VHS sleeve. The way it could have happened...Powerful.Influential.Wealthy. They have ties to business, government and a vast underground network of free-lance intelligence operatives. These men have banded together to plan a murder that will stun the world: the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Could this conspiracy have happened?Nearly two decades prior to Oliver Stone's shattering movie JFK,the equally provocative Executive Action uses factual news footage from the tumultuous events of 1963,never deviating from fact or historical record. As directed by David Miller [Lonely Are the Brave] and scripted by Dalton Trumbo [Spartacus,Exodus],it thrillingly depicts a daring plot to change the course of U.S. policy by eliminating the man responsible."Everything we show is supported by evidence," Miller says, adding that co-stars Burt Lancaster and Robert Ryan, initially skeptical about the conspiracy idea, were persuaded by the weight of factual material. As Executive Action tensely builds toward its climax,it poses the real possibility that a complex conspiracy was the cause of those fateful events in Dallas on November 22,1963. 04/12/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Executive Action This movie is definitely worth a watch. It's definitely eerie at the end with the list of names of those involved that mysteriously died. This is a really interesting film. 12/21/2008
