About this item
"4 Film Favorites: Sylvester Stallone" includes: "Tango & Cash" - There are buddy cops. And then there are Ray Tango and Gabe Cash (Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell) They're rival L.A. policemen who have one thing in common: each thinks he is the best. And each has the commendations, battle scars and ready supply of hilarious one-liners to prove it. Team them and they're like oil and water. But frame them for a crime and they're like a match and kerosene. "Demolition Man" - Sgt. John Spartan doesn't fight crime. He rips into it like a junkyard dog. He's the "Demolition Man." And he's the future's only hope. Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes go at it amid dazzling cyber-future of 2032 (designed by "Blade Runner's" David L. Snyder) in this funny action blast. Archcriminal Simon Phoenix (Snipes) has fled a 35-year CryoPrison deep freeze to find a serene non-violent Southern California ready for the taking. Unable to deal with his psychopathic 1990s style, authorities seek an old-fashioned cop to fight old-fashioned crime. They revive Spartan (Stallone), currently in CryoPrison from his last encounter with Phoenix. "The Specialist" - Sharon Stone is May Munro, a drop-dead beauty with a fatal past. She's sworn death to the mobsters who murdered her parents and she's decided the method of their disposal: blast 'em-one by one-to kingdom come. She also knows the right man for the job: cool-fire ex-CIA explosives expert Ray Quick (Sylvester Stallone). Miami's playground of the super rich becomes an incendiary slayground as May lures the murderers and Ray ingeniously detonates them into ashes. But a vicious mob boss (Rod Steiger), his brash son (Eric Roberts) and a psychotic hired gun (James Woods) with a lethal grudge against Quick aren't the kind who go without a fight. And the feverish passions shared by the two avengers can't hide an ominous question from Ray. Is May falling for him...or is she setting him up, too? "Over The Top" - Sylvester Stallone stars as hard-luck big-rig trucker Lincoln Hawk and takes us under the glaring Las Vegas lights for all the boisterous action of the World Armwrestling Championship in "Over The Top" (co-scripted by Stallone). Relying on wits and willpower, Hawk tries to rebuild his life by capturing the first-place prize money - and the love of the son (David Mendenhall) he abandoned years earlier into the keeping of his rich, ruthless father-in-law (Robert Loggia). He matches muscles with some of the game's gargantuan greats - and grips you tightly with a rousing finale in crowd-pleasing "Rocky" style. Grab hold for rip-roaring fun.
