Contemporary singer⁄songwriter Matt White is a melodic vocalist with a knack for intimate adult alternative pop. Growing up in Englewood, NJ, White spent much of his youth in and around New York City. Interested in music from a young age, he began piano lessons at age three and picked up the guitar while attending college at the University of Wisconsin. Upon graduating, White returned to NYC and began busking around the city on street corners and in parks, and eventually moved on to clubs like Joe's Pub and the Living Room. A genuine product of the online generation, it was White's local following combined with his considerable connections on Myspace -- over 50,000 friends -- that caught the attention of Geffen Records, who signed White to a deal. An EP, Bleeker Street Stories followed soon after, in 2006, and sold well over iTunes. White's full-length debut album was set for release in 2007. ~ Matt Collar, All Music Guide
