I have owned one of these hoses for 6 years and it has performed excellently. With a small amount of forthought this is a wonderful, dependable product. Yes when you first buy this product you must check to make sure that the normally included rubber washer for the female connection is included; and yes this product is made of rubber, so you must first allow it to warm up after being shipped in it's curled state. The white easy-grip connector allows for beter tightening ability than most others, and as long as the washer is present and in place the connection never leaks. As I said this is my second purchase of the product. I purchased the first one in April of '07 and just within the last two months the outer skin split. Current date being October of '13. The hose itself still does not leak, and I am currently using it to water my backyard. If you intend to buy a product that will serve you reliably and doesn't cost a small fortune; than this is the hose you want in it's varried lengths.

The hose had several kinks in it right out of the package. I got tired of repeatedly twisting and turning it to unkink it everytime I used it and after a week brought it back for a refund. It is at best a medium duty hose.

I attached this hose to my 50 footer and dragged it around the outside of my house and and all over my yard watering plants without one kink. Tip: When you get a new hose set it out in the sun to warm up. Then remove the straps and packaging and roll the hose out until it is fully extended (roll it like you would roll a tire). Then drag it to your faucet and hook it up. This is a good hose.

If I could give this product no stars, I would do that. Kinks about every two to three feet. Impossible to use without squeezing the hose at each kink while water is running.

    • A. I believe it is safe, there were NO warnings of any kind on the packaging and info for the hose when I got it. I've had a hose in the past when I lived in CA on a farm and the hose stated it was NOT safe for drinking from for humans, so I know what you're talking about. I believe it IS safe, but you could always call the company to find out yourself.

    • A. Unsure, about the safety of drinking. But, I would hope that Walmart, would have alerted us purchaser of lead in this hose. I am using it to water my vegetable garden, so I feel it is safe to drink from too.

    • A. I can't tell you the diameter as I'd need to cut the hose open to do that properly. However, I can tell you it's the usual/standard size of garden hose, not your typical super cheap kind that is really tiny and that would affect your water pressure when using it. But it has the normal water hose ends on it as a normal hose does, I'm sure it hooks up just fine to any typical home outside water spigots. It IS a heavy weight hose though, and it kind of tough for me to use at times because of that. But, most importantly for me is the fact that it won't become easily destroyed by the intense sun we've got here in the Phoenix AZ area. I would recommend this hose if you want something that will last and work well!
