Rated 5 out of 5★ by Great DVD A unique and entertaining movie! 05/14/2008
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Pleasantly Surprised Mostly, I purchased this movie because I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter series and I was interested to see Rupert Grint play a different character. I really wasn't expecting a great movie, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Rupert Grint is amazing as a young boy with an overbearing mother (played wonderfully by Laura Linney). It was also great to see the dynamic between Rupert and Julie Walters (who plays Evie in this Film and his mother in the Harry Potter series.) It was worth the wait to see it. I would also recommend watching the bonus features. There is an interesting behind the scenes look at the movie and a gag reel. 08/07/2007
Rated 5 out of 5★ by fantastic! wow I absolutely loved this movie, I picked it up because of Rupert Grint of course, you know he's a great actor when you watch this movie and you don't see him as Ron from Harry Potter but Ben and the leading ladies Laura Linney and Julie Walters they are such fantastic actresses. it was funny and touching and the direction was great. I definately recommend this movie. 10/08/2007
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Absolutely love it! I've seen Driving Lessons from renting it out at the local movie shop, and I absolutely fell inlove with it. Julie Walters is great, as well as Rupert Grint. I love how on the DVD it doesn't go through a bunch of movie trailers and you don't have to keep hitting 'Main Title' to reach the movie screen. Overall, I think this is great. I'd definately let anyone borrow it. 12/26/2009
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Fun and interesting It is a movie that you have to watch a couple of times it is a bit confusing the first time I saw it but after you watch it a couple of times and pay attention you figure out all that is happening and why. It is a very good roll for rupert and all the other actors where great. It is an amusing movie not much for young children cause the subject matter would be confusing but for upper teens and on a good movie to watch. 10/10/2007
Rated 5 out of 5★ by kewl european coming of age story at first i didn't know what to think of this movie..but it was a nice coming of age movie.. that was funny but a little corky.about a boy thats torn between who he's raised to be and what he want to be..julie walters was amazing in this movie...she played eccentric evie to the t.. & laura linney played her character so well you really wanted to jump through the screen & punch her. then rupert grint.. you really could belive he was this weird cquarky kid. overall very good movie 08/03/2008
Rated 5 out of 5★ by A FANTASTIC MOVIE I ADORED this movie! It has a dry sense of humor: which I find is the best. They couldn't have chosen a better guy to play Ben! Rupert Grint is a FANTASTIC actor and played a wonderful role in this movie! Also I found it very interesting that Julie Walters plays his mum in the Harry Potter films! But of course you would never had known that watching the film! They both did a wonderful transition into this film! And his mother was fantastic in the movie! I, personally, couldn't play the role that everyone will end up hating! She did wonderfully, keeping in mind she is american with all of those Brits, you would never know! She did a pretty good accent.Overall this movie was beyond my expectations!!!!!! When i first saw the cover n Blockbuster I was like "oh, Rupert! So cute! I guess I'll get it!" I got it just because he was in it! And I was SO SURPRISED at how GREAt this movie was! I just HAD to buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!I give this movie about 10,000 stars!!!! 09/03/2007
