This First Alert safe features four locking door bolts, pry resistant concealed hinges and digital and key locks make this safe an excellent way to keep documents and jewelry secure.
First Alert 2.0 Cubic Foot Fireproof Safe with Digital Lock: Over a 30 year mortgage, a homeowner faces a 96 percent chance of being burglarized and 9 percent chance of a fire. You work hard to afford all of the valuable possessions that you keep at home or in your office. Purchasing and using an anti-theft fireproof safe is a critical step in protecting your valuables from would be thieves and a fire. This First Alert safe's anti-theft features include steel construction, heavy duty steel hinges, and 4 solid steel locking bolts. The fire safe's electronic keypad lock allows users to program a personal 3 to 8 digit passcode. This fireproof safe's digital lock is designed to be used in conjunction with the entry key: the entry key operates the safe's live bolt after the passcode is entered into the digital lock. The entry key can be left in the keyhole using only the digital lock to secure the door, or it can be removed for an extra level of security. Two entry keys included. Also included is an emergency override key which can be used to bypass the digital passcode and open the safe in case of battery failure (4 AA batteries Included). The 2118DF fire safe has been awarded a UL classified 1 hour fire rating verifying that it will withstand an external temperature of 1700 degrees Fahrenheit while maintaining an internal temperature of less than 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The interior of the safe includes a pull out drawer and an adjustable and removable steel shelf. Dry fill guarantee: the safe is guaranteed not to develop mildew from moisture originating in the safe's insulating material for five years. All First Alert fire safes are covered by a 5 year manufacturer's warranty and will be replaced free of charge if damaged in a fire.

Rated 4 out of 5 by gingerred It works for me Despite some of the other reviews posted here, I didn't have any trouble initializing the keypad. The only thing I didnt expect is that there is a key that you have to use in addition to the electronic code to open the safe. I thought it would be one or the other, but its not. There is another key that will override everything and open it without the electronic code. It's spacious and delivery was prompt. One word of advice-its heavy, but I was able to move it where I wanted to by flipping it over and kind of rolling it to put it into place. Once its out of the box, it can slide easily if you purchase the little discs to put under furniture designed to move heavy things. Would definitely recommend. Bye bye safe deposit box. 01/23/2008

No problems programing it or with the intial start up, it was very easy to follow instructions. I am able to store important documents, cameras, video camera, and photo albums. I only wish it had key hooks, but they can be easily added by putting in your own small hooks. Overall very pleased. 03/06/2008

Optionally, you can bolt it the floor.Have it delivered with their 97 cent special and watch the UPS guy break his back instead of yours :-))))) 12/03/2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by DTee Honeywell Safe This safe appears to be a good value. It is large enough for all our family heirloom items and legal papers, but small enough to fit into a closet. Operation is very simple, and the overide key and the extra tray for small items are a plus. Keypad code was easy to set up, and keypad operation has worked smoothly. This safe is heavy, nearly 150 lbs, but two people sat it up easily. Used furniture moving glides to slide it into place on the carpet in the closet. Used Site-to-Store for the purchase, as I would not have been able to move the unit from my porch into the house, and it saved a lot on shipping. 11/07/2008
