Diary of a Wimpy Kid My son saw this book at Walmart and thought it looked funny. We finally bought it this afternoon. He started reading it on the way home and finished the book in one sitting. He loved it!My son says, "The book is hilarious. I read it from to start to finish. Believe me it's hard to get me to do that. As for the characters, the parents and adults were insane and the kids were either selfish, stupid or very young. In other words they were all nuts." 09/20/2009
Great book ! I bought this book for my grandchildren to read. I opened up the book to glance at it and I got hooked and read it myself. My granddaughter who hates to read, even read it, and asked me to buy her more of the wimpy kid books. 04/09/2010
Awesome book My Grandson bought this book with a gift card he had gotten.He absolutely loved it. He couldn't put it down.We had to talk him into saving part of it for later. :o)Very good book for lower level elementary kids. (My grandson is 7) 05/28/2011
Negative message to Kids I know this book is popular, but that is unfortunate. I wrote to my son's' elementary school principal that I had reviewed this book, brought home from the school library. The principal agreed that the book has no redeeming quality, except it gets kids to read.How sad that books are now promoted based on childrens discernments, rather than adults.The problem is that the book depicts the middle school experience as one of mean kids, bad irrelevant teachers, negative references to police and authority...the list goes on and on.Suffice to say, that it probably isn't a good idean to paint school and the many relationships inherent to school are negative and unreal. Not the message I want pounded into my child.There are great biographies, and entertianing yet educational books too many to count, why dumb down kids? 12/27/2008
