I received these today from FedEx and I'll have to say they are really better than I expected for this low price. My mother is 88 years old (young) and has to have the TV really loud to understand it and she loves these headphones. I can watch at a lower level and she can turn up her headphones as loud as she wishes... I use rechargeable "AAA" batteries for the headset and already had a wall-plug DC converter that I use for the base transmitter unit so I didn't have to buy any batteries and it works great... I've noticed in several reviews that some have had trouble getting them to work the first time... well, I did too.. but I just turned them on and about a half hour later they were working fine. Must need to boot-up or something (I don't know)... These are really great if you are looking for a low priced way to enjoy your TV (or most any audio device) in private. Give them a try, I think you'll enjoy them... NOTE: These do not have any kind of an "optical digital" converter included (about $75 bucks online) so if you have a HDTV like mine with only a "Optical Digital Out" jack, these will not work with the included cables. I do, how-ever, have the RCA type jacks on the back of my cable box which works fine... Be sure to check your set or cable/satellite box to see if you have the RCA type jacks for "audio out"...

I bought my Sentry H0900 headphones over a year ago and have never had a problem other than rapid battery use. (about every two weeks - 3-5 hours per day). The headphones work as advertised. I live in a 1100 sq. foot condo and can walk from room to room and still hear the TV. When the batteries in the headset get weak, there is a definite hum but when fresh batteries are in, they are great. Rechargeable AAAs are the way to go. I had an AC adaptor for the transmitter so I do not use the 9Volt battery. My ONLY nit is that the 'off' button stopped working about 6mos ago. Rather than pushing the button a dozen or so times to get it to turn off, I just open the battery door and pop on of the batteries loose. Takes two seconds. And to address some of the naysayers: If you are getting static then the batteries are probably weak. If you hook up the transmitter to the TVs 'audio out' or 'line out' plug, you will be able to mute the TV or turn down the TV and still listen to the earphones. With rare exception, there is no occasion when the VCR or DVD player should be plugged into the audio or video out plugs.

Ordered these to use, like another reviewer here, with my metal detector. And they work great. I was amazed at how well they worked. I then tried them with my laptop and had the same results. Perfect sound. I havent tried them with anything else yet, but I dont expect any other results except perfect. For the price the quality is very good. I have tried much more expensive wireless headphones that didnt have the quality and sound that these do. Most other wireless that are portable are much more expensive and dont come with the options that these do. One thing I did note. The wire that connects to the plug going into the equipment that you want the sound from is kind of delicate. So I do recommend that you handle that wire gently and if you use it on a metal detector, would recommend taping it with electrical tape or maybe some shrink tubing to strengthen the wire where it connects to both plugs. Just to be on the safe side. I didnt mark down for that because of the price. You just arent going to find a better price for decent wireless headphones.

I'm not sure why so many people had negative things to say about this headset. Purchased for around $20 it was the perfect solution for my needs of simply not keeping my husband awake while I watch TV in the bed next to him. It's comfortable - no interference, not perfect stereo sound . . . but it only costs $20 bucks and it came with all the adapters I needed. It's not a Bose so what would you expect anyway? I've had Walkman headsets that sound worse and cost almost just as much. And if you don't want to use a 9v battery in the base - it accepts and 12v power cord which I had an extra so no additional cost for that. I even tested it out and walked to the opposite side of my home (1400 sq ft) and it had a slight interference at the farthest point - but still exceeded expectation. As far as electrical interferences or buzzing - I have 6 other appliances plugged into the same room on the same circuit, including a window air conditioner, and there is NO buzzing. Another issue I was worried about was if my husband would be able to hear the sound coming from my headset while he laid next to me - no issues. If you turn it ALL the way up - you can hear it if you're sitting side by side. But if you're a person of normal hearing range - that's going to be to loud to tolerate. For these last 3 reasons - this product exceeded my expectations. I also purchased Site to Store since no Wal-mart within 100 miles of my location had it in stock. The only one they had was an RCA which were bulkier - didn't come with the needed adapters at a cost of $50. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I've been using this set for about a year, thats Kind of a testament to them I guess, here's what I've found. 1. As with most wireless transmitters your input device (Mp3 player, computer, etc) should only be set at 1/4 to 1/2 volume. Input volume causes 3/4 the distortion problems with wireless transmitters. 2. The transmitter almost HAS to be ran with a AC adapter. A 9v only lasts a few hours. 3. The transmitter doesn't have enough weight to keep it down on the power pins when using an AC adapter. I ended up stuffing the battery compartment with lead sinkers. 4. Audio quality is actually pretty good, and the range is comparable to other FM transmitters. It has a similar range as my Crane FM "Whole House" transmitter (~$80). 5. Headset batteries last ~12-16 hours before the sound quality degrades far enough to need replacing. 6. Its very cheap. I've bought it on impulse for ~$15 US. All together for the price this is a VERY nice set once you've taken into account the above.

The price is good but then the quality wasn't. So I guess in this case, you get what you paid for. It had static and sound interference. Really bad at times. I took it back to the store. I got the RCA at the store that was twice as much but it seems to work well so far. And it has the rechargeable battieries which the Sentry headset didn't. But I did have to buy an extra piece to be able to hook the RCA to my TV. Which Walmart didn't carry and cost me over $6 elsewhere. The Sentry headset didn't need the extra piece to connect to the tv. But I don't want the static and sound interference the Sentry had. From my experience, I should have just bought the RCA headset at the store in the beginning. Thought I would try the cheaper one but it just didn't work out for me. Luckily, I kept the receipt that came in the box with the Sentry, which made the return easy.

This product is great for when my family goes to bed and I want to stay up and watch tv, or a movie. I love the headphones, however the only concern I would have is that occasionally the headphones get a very slight static sound, but if you move just a little the static is completely gone. I would definately reccommend this item to a friend.

Disappointing! I found that if you put the transmitter too close to the TV, all you hear is a buzz. Even if you can move the transmitter far enough away from the TV to actually hear it, the buzz returns after about 30 minutes of use. The transmitter can accept an AC adapter but does not come with one. Sentry does not even make an adapter for this. I have found several AC adapters that meet the requirements of 12 volts at 200 mA, but the polarity is wrong. To top it all off, the headphones are very uncomfortable. Don't waste your money on these.

Okay, I start this by saying I'm a nerd, and want my music/movies to sound good. An audiophile if you will. These headphones buzz a little, turn the volume down on them, and up on your stereo equipment, problem solved. Small speakers with direct current from a couple AAA's will more than likely have a buzz at high levels... The range on these isn't bad. When I travel around the house, I get some spikes in the audio, but with all the stuff I'm broadcasting, I expected it. Audio quality could use some help... I plugged them into my receiver and tweaked the settings (Tone, Bass and Mid) to make them sound better. For TV they are great. My audio compliant comes only when playing music. That being said, these things cost 20 bucks, you get what you pay for, and if your not an audio nut like me, you'll find these of decent quality. Based on that, I have to say, I would recommend them to a friend. Just tell him/her all the stuff above. Matt
