I have been using Maxell Products for 25+ years. They have never let me down. I have never had any coasters with this product. The price is the best I have found anywhere, and believe me, I have checked everywhere.

I cannot remember the last time I have had a burn process fail because of using Maxell. It's just too bad they don't carry them in my local Wal-Mart store. Unfortunately, I have had to settle for Sony and Memorex which have failed considerably. But now I will only buy Maxell online instead of buying DVDs at my local Wal-Mart store.

is there any way to bridge movies over 120 min? will i need to buy some kind of software? please help thank you
    by migaluch 8/6/2009
    • Software like ConvertXtoDVD automatically adjust the size of the movie to make it fit on a blank DVD.

    • Yes you would have to buy software to bridge and compress to fit more on a disc.

    • Depennds how you record the movies. If you can, you can play the movie on one machine or computer and set the second recording machine to 2 hour mode. You can see videos on You Tube to show you how to transfer movies. You will need to download a free program to image the movie and download and then copy to disc using the free program.

    • Wal-Mart has discs that can record up to a 4-hr movie. They are more expensive and come in smaller packs.

    • I use Roxio, one of their programs will compress them so they will fit. I have used it to put a 3hr movie on one std DVD.

    • First off, DVD-+R/+-RW disks are regular DVDs. If you record from a TV program or some other media on a DVD recorder that can record a blank DVD disk, then when through recording to the disk you have to finalize the disk in the DVD recorder. Once you finalize the disk in the DVD recorder, you can watch this recorded DVD on most DVD players. Then if you want you can make a copy of the disk in a computer with its disk copy/copy whole disk program that is on your computer. This copy of the DVD should play in any DVD player also.

    • Finalizing your current DVD-R disc should allow you to play the disc on many DVD players. Only a few older players will not allow finalized DVD-R's to play.

    • It all really has to do with the format you record with or type of device used to record. Not every DVD player reconigzes every format. Example DIVX or MP3 or MP4.

    • "Finalize" your recordings on the DVD-r and they will play on any stand-alone DVD player.

    • DVD-R should play on any DVD player. AS LONG AS THE DISK IS FINALIZED.

    • You have it backwards - you transfer the contents of a DVD to the DVD-R, requires proper software and a write capable DVD drive in your computer. Any regular DVD player will play a recorded DVD-R disc.

    • Depends how the recordings were made. If you downloaded with computer you need to Finalize the disc and then use a program like Windows media player and rip a copy and then burn a new disc with the burn option. If you mean Movie DVD's you will have to rip a copy and then use a special free computer program to disable the encryption and then copy disc. These play in most machines, but there are some coasters (failures). Check You Tube for video instructions to your questions.
