I've owned and sworn-by my Chi ceramic flat iron for years, so when I came across this product, I didn't hesitate to buy it, as I'm already using the serum (Silk Infusion# and thought I could use additional protection from heat. Purchasing this product wasn't a good decision at all, here's why:- The product is sticky and wet. It really saturates the hair.- It doesn’t dry quickly, and because it's so wet, you end-up flat-ironing damp hair, which isn’t good at all. I've read many reviewers that suggest spraying your hands, then running your hands through your hair. I would agree with that, IF I were to recommend this product.- The result is stiff, dull, dry hair with frizzy/brittle edges. This product actually MAGNIFIED my damaged, split ends, if not contributed to them.Not sure what hair type/ethnicity this product was intended for, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend this for relaxed African American hair. I don't like oils or heavy product in my hair, however because this iron guard left my hair so dry #even after applying the serum afterwards), I may end-up spraying it with a little oil sheen to hold me until I wash, and redo my hair. 09/26/2011

My hair still got damaged even after I used this product because I used to straighten my hair almost everyday. So I would recommend this product only for people who straighten their hair at least once a week. 10/28/2010

Just spray on, let it dry for 15 secs and then straighten! I have thick, course hair and this product works wonders! It protects my hair and helps keep the frizzes down. 12/11/2011
