About this item
"Music And Lyrics": First you're hot, then you're not...and then you're Alex Fletcher (Hugh Grant). So when the sizzlingest tween-queen on the charts asks the has-been '80s pop sensation to write her a song, he grabs for another chance at stardom. Problem: Alex can say it with music, but he sure can't say it with words. Enter Sophie Fisher (Drew Barrymore), his beguiling if quirky plant lady, who has a green thumb for lyrics. Together, they go after songwriting success - and discover that if you want to write the perfect love song, it helps to fall in love. "Going The Distance": Erin's (Drew Barrymore) wry wit and unfiltered frankness charm newly single Garrett (Justin Long) over beer, bar trivia and breakfast the next morning. Their chemistry sparks a full-fledged summer fling, but neither expects it to last once Erin heads home to San Francisco and Garrett stays behind for his job in New York City. But when six weeks of romping through the city inadvertently becomes meaningful, neither is sure they want it to end. "The Wedding Singer": Robbie works the crowd. Julia works the floor. He (Adam Sandler) is a wedding singer, able to charm even the most reluctant Aunt Tilly into a dance. She (Drew Barrymore) is a waitress at parties where Robbie sings. Both are involved with others. Both are right for each other. Enjoy while Cupid works this out. "The Wedding Singer" has its heart on its sleeve and a goofy charm everywhere that includes its throwback look at the styles and sounds of the '80s. But a romance - and a movie - like this is made to last. "Home Fries": Two brothers are obsessed with the same woman in this comedy: one wants to marry her the other wants to kill her.
