Rated 4 out of 5★ by Good Leather patch kit This product by 3M did a very good job of fixing small cuts and tears on two of my leather couches. I was able to mix the colors to get an exact match to my Teal leather without much effort. Next, the mesh with heat applier didn't really work that well. I followed all the instructions. However when I just let the color 'paint' just dry over night, it worked fine without the heat and fabric patch. Good enough job for a $10 kit! 12/20/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by It works fairly well. I was surprised that one needs an iron when using the kit. I have not owned an iron for many years now, but I was able to substitute a hotplate. I only used the black color so I do not know how well other colors would match. Grateful to have this product available to repair my vinyl seat. 11/02/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Works well I used this repair kit to repair a black office chair. At first it looked bad. Then, I added an extra coat of paint. The heat helps to blend the new paint into the surrounding material, but be careful not to overheat. It can get a little scorched. From several feet away, the repair looks great, but you can still see it from close up.It is not perfect, but it is very good. 01/10/2013
Rated 3 out of 5★ by I used to cover a hole and glue some tears in my leather couch. The adhesive did not fix the tear. I covered the hole, but it does not look good. It was also very difficult to use the colors with the heat. I would not buy it again. 02/08/2013
Rated 2 out of 5★ by long time to dry... I read and followed the directions. The adhesive had the consistancy of a thick paste and was difficult to apply to the tear in my leather. I let it dry for 4 hours like the directions said. The color I needed was a chocolate brown and was easy to make. The hardest part for me was getting the heat transfer tool hot enough from my iron, and then rolling it over the paper to get the brown adhesive to dry in the tear. I became frustrated with the time involved. I let it air dry for about 5 days, applying hot air from hair dryer 2 to 3 times a day. It finally got dry enough I could put the cusion back on the couch without worrying that it might get worse. It seems like 3M could come up with a better way to get the adhesive to dry. 05/28/2013
Rated 3 out of 5★ by Don't expect too much. I had used a vinyl repair kit in the past that was of better quality and had much better results. I was expecting better results since I had in the past with a different kit. The hole however is gone and it appears to be holding with use. Just not very nice to look at. :( 05/28/2013
Rated 2 out of 5★ by Not any prettier than the rip. I followed the directions to the tee! Everything was pretty easy until it came to heating this "tool" up on my iron. I had the iron set to max and held it on the iron for a very long time , yet it still didn't heat up the black color. After over and hour with the re-heating and re-heating the "tool" I finally just carefully took the tip of my iron to the texture piece for about five minutes. It did finally set the black color. The other problem however comes with that this repair is no less of an eye sore than the rip was, if anything it's more noticeable. For $10 I guess it can only be so good..... 07/21/2013
