Sent undercover to infiltrate the inner circle of mobsters "Buddha" Stanzione (Elliott Gould) and Tommy "Bells" Bellavita (Robert Patrick), Tozzi appears to be the ideal agent for the task - streetwise, moody and tough-talking. But his romantic involvement with his informant's sister (Dagmara Dominczyk) soon drags both Tozzi and his partner Cuthbert Gibbons (Colm Meaney) into a deadly - and at times murderously funny - game of cat-and-mouse between the hapless FBI agents their intended targets.
