Jane Eyre is yet another cinematic dramatization of Charlotte Bronte's classic 19th century romantic novel -- and at 239 minutes, the longest and most thorough. The familiar storyline traces the life of Jane Eyre from her miserable childhood in a bleak orphan's home to her assumption of a governess' post at the home of the mysterious Edward Rochester. Jane and Rochester fall in love, but their plans for marriage are blighted by the Terrible Secret hidden away in his attic. Only when total, devastating disaster befalls Rochester does he consider himself worthy of Jane's love. Rated 4 out of 5 by GreatPyrenees A 5 hour Jane Eyre Movie. :-D I have always loved the book. This was i thought a really good movie. It does cut some stuff out but what movie that they take from a book doesn't. All in all it follows the book well. 12/15/2010

I recently read Jane Eyre for the first time and loved it, so I looked at reviews of the different movie versions to find out which one I might want to buy. I read good reviews of this one and it was a great price, so I bought it, and I love it! This movie sticks pretty close to the book, so after watching it, I felt like I'd read the book all over again. The actor playing Jane does seem a bit old for the part, but she plays the part so well that you barely notice. If you enjoyed the book, you'll love this movie! 09/08/2009

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bobwar Excellent Movie The acting in this movie is incredible. Both actresses, young and old who played Jane Eyre were really good. Love the story. It says alot about sticking to your decisions and being morally upright,with a heart-warming conclusion. After all the terrible things that happen in life, loves wins out in the end. 10/18/2007
