I really like the zte valet, being a long time tracfone customer I feel like I am going from a VW to a BMW but I know I am not. the zte valet is at the low end of android phone barrel. This is a true smartphone unlike my LG 800, but it was a good call phone. I have a ton of apps on the valet and I have customized it just how I want. The Super-Bright LED Flashlight Surpax Technology Inc is a handy app. The TRACFONE APP from google play store is a good one to check your balance and service date and to add min and data time. The power bar widget(COMES WITH PHONE) is the one I use the most, I use it to turn the data off so I don't lose it all. You can turn the wi-fi on from there, and turn sync on, GPS, bluetooth and the screen brightness. I will take a picture of the power bar and put on customer images on this phones main page.( Remember to turn off data when you're not using it. ) I have norton anti-malware (free) app and it works great, It always checks every new app I install and if it updates a app it checks that also. I have had the phone for 3 weeks now and have not had any problems, I read all the review sites and blogs and that has helped. I just seen in the Q&A on the phones home page on this site what the mirow was for and they told you about a good flashlight app on google,it works great...If you need a 9 or 10 rated phone you will probbley will not be happy with this low end phone, but for a pre-paid phone I like mine. I do notice that I do not have as many signal bars as I did on my other tracfones but I can use this phone where the others would not work and have not dropped any calls.. So what I am trying to say here is that I can call and talk just about anywhere I go west va - ohio - ky. ( On this phone mabey 1 to 3 bars and my others phones I would have 3 and 4 bars...) Voice is good. camera indoors is really bad and outside is just O K. Hint, have your kids buy you time cards, google play cards and data cards for fathers, mothers, birthdays and xmas... ha ha. I bought my first T. F. in 1998, I seen it in a jeep mag and took it out west Leadville, CO and it worked,I was shocked. What's great about it: Android 4.1 Operating System, 1.0Ghz processor. What's not so great: Camera indoor pictures.

I bought one of these phones a little over a year ago. It's a nice looking phone, but that's where the virtues end. Had consistent trouble with dropped calls, which was really aggravating. The phone has no automatic notice when you are running out of airtime, so when the minutes end, so does your call, without warning. Google downloaded an Android update that got corrupted, which rendered the phone functionally useless. I did a factory reset as a last resort, and found out this model has a glitch which causes it to be unable to connect to the wireless network after a reset. Fixing the problem requires extensive time on the phone (a working one) with Tracfone to correct the issue. And let me say this, Tracfone customer service is among the worst I have ever encountered. They are abysmal. This company has little interest in helping consumers. After years as a customer, I'm going to Nokia and TMobile.

This is definitely a starter/lower end smartphone. It will handle the basics, but if you like apps you'll quickly run out of space & phone will be very slow. (Tried moving some to the SD card & then they wouldn't work properly.) Even when it indicates that Wi-Fi is available I have a very hard time connecting/staying connected. The camera doesn't take good enough quality pictures to use for submitting receipts, etc. I wanted a Smartphone to take advantage of money saving apps, but many are not compatible with this phone. I can't receive or send photos in texts nor can I upload photos to Facebook - not enough memory. About once a week I have to remove the battery because it won't power on. I wish that talk, text & data weren't in separate "buckets" - would prefer if talk & text were counted together & data separately. Your remaining balance doesn't show on the main screen, you have to go to the Tracfone website to check balances - kind of inconvenient. Battery life is very short, have to charge nearly every day...& I'm not a heavy user. On the plus side, this phone has very good sound quality. Calls are much clearer than on my previous Tracfone.

Bought this android because of the price and having a regular Tracfone already. Could not get it activated, all it said was that it was on the Verizon network, tried Tracfone service dept, which as I knew already is something to do as a last resort. After 4 days and a new sim card, the problem was never resolved so I returned the phone after the torture of dealing with their no-customer service.

Being this is my first (Smart phone)type cell phone I don't have any thing to compare it to. I don't have any complaints about it being an Android phone. My complaint is the phone it self No matter what you do you cant hear it when it ring. I am no spring chicken, but I am not def. either I had to download a ship's horn as a ringtone and keep the volume as high as it goes so I could hear it when it rings. and yes I check the volume several times a day to make sure I can hear it The pictures it take aren't very good I tried to download A check to my account and I couldn't because the check could not be seen clearly. I did this out side on a clear sunny afternoon. also It wont let you send pictures you take with the phone in a text message I would not recommend this phone to anyone

What are triple minutes for life? Does this mean once I get the phone I never have to pay for minutes? Or if I buy a card with 500 minutes I will get 1500 minutes? Or is there any other explanation? Thanks

  • A. As long as you have a phone that does triple minutes, the minutes are tripled(60 minute card would really be 180 minutes). They advertise this, because not all Tracfones do triple minutes.

  • A. It is the tripling of the amount of minutes you buy. You buy 500 you get 1500.

  • A. I have had a triple-minute phone for about two years now, and as others have mentioned, when you buy 'regular' minutes #NOT a double or triple minute offer# it will automatically triple the amount and shows up immediately on your phone. BE AWARE, though that if you get a refill that's already offering double or triple minutes, that DOES NOT mean it will quadruple or quintuple #sp?# on your phone. I know from experience, that you have to pick one or the other. If you purchase a double minute offer, that's all you will get. The special offers overrride the phone's auto-triple feature.

  • A. There is no unlimited talk and text on this phone. You do get triple minutes AND triple texts AND data service.

  • A. Not sure if that's the exact model phone they're using in the commercial; but if you're asking if it will operate on a $7/month plan, then that is correct. Mine reads, "Plans as low as $7 per month" right on the front of the outside packaging. Of course you don't get much data/airtime minutes for that, even on 3x (it works out to one hour/60 MB data per month); but it's nice for short calls; and you can enjoy the web-based features on wi-fi whenever available.

  • A. First of all there is no 'unlimited talk, texts, etc.' with Tracfone. The $7/month is based on purchasing the $19.99 60-minute airtime card which gives 90 days service and 180 minutes on this triple-minute phone. So, $7/mo is the lowest possible cost for any minute-based Tracfone, yes. Straight Talk is a Tracfone sister-brand for $45/unlimited/30 day cycles and they offer similar Android phones on walmart.com
