Era is a very good quality product. My mom recommended it to me 6 months ago, and I have used it consistantly since then. I used to use SUN, which was leaving my clothes a little dingy/musty. ERA has enzymes to remove food stains/formula stains/mud/grass, brighteners to keep the colors nice and the whites white. The smell is very fresh, and lightly detectable when fully dry. It works better than shout/other sprays to pretreat, all I do I put a little era on the stain and work it in with a soft toothbrush, and the stain is GONE. Consumer reports puts ERA in their top 10 detergents for a reason! I have 2 children under the age of five, and my husband is a laborer. We get our clothes DIRTY. this gets it out, with no harsh wear on fabrics. It leaves a fresh smell on towels and linens, so they smell like they came out of washer for weeks after washing. My kids have sensitive skin, especially my daughter, but this doesnt bother them in the slightest. Its a very good quality product, especially for moms with small children who need to strreeetttchhh that paycheck!

I used to think Tide was the best but a friend gave me some ERA to get me to try it and it actually took out stuff TIDE left behind and it was half the price. I have 5 boys so keeping them clean and taking the best care of their clothes are important to me along with saving money.

We have used this product for many years with absolutely no problems. Great for dealing with spots and most stains. My understanding is ERA is being phased out by P&G- go figure. If you use this product, great.. But get it from Walmart before it is gone.

I have used Era for many years. It does not have an overpowering scent like some soaps. The amount you use is much less than the cup size on the lid seems to indicate. Take a look at what is actually recommended. I cut my soap cup down to the line they recommend, it keeps me from over soaping the clothes.

    • A. I use it in a regular old top loading machine, but on the front of the container it says for All Front and Top Loaders, and it has the little "he" logo, which means that it is fine for high efficiency machines.

    • A. Hi, Keekee. Era liquid versions switched to "HEC", which is HE compatible and now are good to use in all washers. There's an indicator on the bottles that says this, so you'll want to check for that before you buy. Kim

    • A. Yes, you may use it as it indicates on the front of the bottle. There is some Era not for HE washers so you must look, but this particular bottle is marked appropriate for HE.
